Default How to reset service light in Toyota Tiger/VIGO

Does anyone know how to reset the service light in a Toyota Tiger or a Toyota VIGO? Someone i know has a VIGO and the fuel filter replace light came on. Even after the filter was changed, the light stays on. neone know how to turn this light off? can anyone help? i know that service light reset tools are used for this, but there is always a manual system to over-ride this.

Hey salarzae, u r in dubai, right? can u find out if Chevrolet V8 engines are available anywhere in sharjah/dubai? that would be a BIG favor! I would prefer a duramax diesel V8, but a petrol V8 would do as well. remember, it has to go in a 1977 chevy. can u?

I asked 4 time 'coz I had my own plan of finding a few parts for the Volvo I mentioned in the Crashed wheels section (Volvo Volvo in the Bush) 'n that I wanted to buy an SiR or a 2.4 ltr VTEC for our civic back in Pakistan. I already did some research 'n found out that for just 5000PkR u can send the engine 'n gearbox to peshawar, pakistan.

So, gimme a few days, I've a very hectic schedule but I was sick 4 da last week or so 'n i'm staying at home most of time, otherwise it is not possible to spend so much time on internet like this.

I knew it wasn't going to because i mis-interpreted your post. I thought you wanted the "service due" indicator gone. As far as the Fuel filter light is concerned, its got no SST to override the warning lamp. The Lamp comes on when the seperator detects high moisture content in fuel. Your service light is on because
    1) Your fuel tank was filled up with low grade diesel and there is still residual moisture, probably a high amount of it, still trapped in the tank.
    2) improper Installation.
    3) Improper Part (Non-OE).

The new Fuel filter is a high pressure unit but operates more or less in the same manner as the older versions.

    Hey Khattak!

I went out shopping for an engine. I got prices for some of engines but was not able to get the engine serial/model#. But most of the them are 5.7 Ltr V8s. Some are Carborated (1800 Dhms) and some Injected (2800 Dhms). I'm not sure but I think I saw one LTZ 5.7 ltr (asking 3000Dhms). I didn't negotiated the price and am looking for someone who can give me better prices. V6 are also available, (for 1500~1800). Most of the engines are Chevy Camaro based.

I also checked Diesel engines but only V8 are available and expensive like the gasoline. Tell me what to do next.

@Fli_GTi: hmmmmm, apparently this is quite a problem here in pesh. The guy says hes had the fuel tank cleaned, filter replaced, all wiring checked. they even went through all the wires leading from the filter to the ECU but found no problems. Toyota Frontier doesnt know how to solve the problem either. btw, the filter has been replaced twice since then, so cant be improper installation. let me go through this site first, the one u posted. Thanks anyways, man.
@salarzae: yaar, i really appreciate ur efforts! do i read u correctly, when u say V8 Diesels are available? cuz i WANT a diesel V8! can u confirm plz? price and availability of a chevy diesel V8?

Yup Bro, V8 diesels are available and the prices range from 1800Dhms onwords till 3000Dhms (depending on year model). I didn't negotiated the price 'coz I want to negotiate in front of a guy who knows better about chevy stuff. I'm not good at Chevy.

@salarzae: I cant thank you enough man! guess what, since that good-for-nothing FLi-GTi didnt solve the VIGO problem, therefore he isnt getting a treat in namakmandi, and that means the slots open! so i'll give YOU the treat!!! nd remember, theres no HURRY for the car and engine. also, engine has more priority than the car.
@exanaxe: i love doing this! lol. yaar, its a 1990 Toyota Corona (AT 170) with a 2200 CC Diesel engine. The engine is EFI and has Electronic Throttle Control (Which means, theres no accelerator cable (ala some BMWs)! instead, a sensor in the accelerator pedal sends info to the ECU for incremental increase in fuel). The car has an automatic gearbox. Which means, the local driving fuel consumption is terrible, but highways driving fuel consumption is exceptional!
