Umm we got ours back in December of last year. In total, we drove off the lot after paying $14k. MSRP price was around 13k, but after dealer fees and all the rest of the crap, it added up.

Price should be comparitively less now.

Go to www.kbb.com and check your options.
Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.

Give it a thorough check-around for other body damage. The last thing you want is rust damage causing serious problems.

The camry I have has 51k miles on it now, and it had i think 40k when we got it. Your car's been driven quite a lot... but i wouldn't care too much about it since these cars are built to last.

    What's the warranty you're getting?

BTW reagarding second hand cars, talk to @portage. He's the best on this. He gave me a couple of pointers that were really useful.

PM him- he'll surely help you out. But still, I think the deal you're getting is pretty good. (Y)

DO you have your money 'in hand'?
RX-7? An RX-7? Really? I hope you know it's just a sports car with a washing machine under the hood.

Engine damage you can't really figure it out. Although you can put your finger in the exhaust when the car is on and see what color the deposits are- if they're black, then the engine needs a bit of work (but it'll still do fine though), and if it's reddish, then it's a "dayum" good engine (portage bhai said "dayum" )

Body parts- since you know that the trunk and hood were changed, so you know there's no ambiguity there. Ummm... make sure you check to see if the paintwork matches on all panels in the car. Do check the odometer too- if it seems "dim", then it may have been in an accident. These are thorough tests btw.

You've probably got 25k more left on the standard warranty. This covers transmission breakdowns, engine stuff... and some other thing that can't be repaired without going into heavier details. The 2005 model is actually better than the one I have because this came with standard 4 disk brakes, and ABS. Mine doensn't come with ABS. It's a comfortable car, though. I've gotten no problem. The only thing that pisses me off is that the mpg figures can't ever get above 21 in city no matter what I try to do. Other than that, toyota camry is the best car when compared with the Accord. It's got a more comfortable ride since it's higher up. Power- screw it. No one needs those extra few hp's around the city. Save your money and get the camry.

Some serious camry activists (in amreeka) on Pakwheels include:
    a) Myself
    b) Afridino1
    c) Hassan_Sarwar
    d) Ummm... i think that's about it :p

Like I said, send portage a PM and talk to him about what you should look for in terms of damage and all. He knows this stuff because it's his business after all!

Like Faheem bhai said, you don't need to look farther than a Camry. It's reliable and cheaper to run than most cars in the same range.

Try searching around for acuras and all, but acuras have perhaps the worst service histories in the universe- they have a tendency to screw up after 40,000 miles. The Camry, in my opinion, is the best choice.

man go for camry, i have 2004 and 2002 white camry;s at my house. but do get it checked out first. go to local dealer. here local Lithia Toyota in my town charge $25 to check out engine and transmission. problems. u can also check car history at www.carfax.com to make sure car has not been in accident. rest is up to you, you have seen the car, not us.

if engine, tansmission and history is good. then go for it. 10K not bad price for 2005.
