    Default Vitz(1999-2004) vs (2005+) : Help

    Dear All...

Hope every one doing good. I need a suggestion regarding gen1 and gen 2 vitz.. i am planing to buy one.. but confuse for which one i should go for...

as i gone through many forms what i get is gen 2 vitz does not work good with CNG... and then each has its own pros and cons...

anybody here who experienced both... can they suggest anything... and off course money is also an issue... gen 2 is v expensive...

and also let me know the running and maintainance cost.. how much diff in that...

Gen 2 has gr888888 looks but very expensive.
Gen 1 is a bit old now 2004 means 4 years back.
Socho 4 sal main car ka kia hal hota hay.
U cant get a 100% mechanically fit car if u go for gen 1.

Trust me CNG in Gen2 Vitz is as good as any other Car. Its just that u goto choose the correct Advancer and Original Lendi Renzo Kit. Also get it fitted and tuned from a reputed mechanic.
I have got my Vitz 2005 on CNG. No Problems Yet.

what ever u do think 100 times before going for gen 1.
go to karachi port your self and from there take a good mechanic with u.
    then buy it.
One of my friends did that and got 2004 vitz in very good condition.

    2 NaveedAhmed1983,
Sir,I dont want u to throw your money in buying a bad car.Vitz 1st gen models are 4-cylinders,means more power, less noisy and runs very good.Vitz 2nd gen are 3-cylinders means, low power compared to 1st gen, noisy, but runs fair.
Vitz 1st generation models are good in shape. But 2nd gen vitz is a lot better in shape. But shape's not an issue here. Our issue is performance so without further ados you should purchase a 2003,2004 model. It would be more better then 2005 believe me...(Y)(Y)
Also take a look at the ratings for further details.

    salam
i own the 2nd gen. there alot of differences in both of them. 2ng G is more spacious, not as quick though, cng is possible but ull have to find a good installer, great mileage on petrol, better looks.1st g is 4 cylinder and has a greater pick, meaning faster, its been here longer thus parts are more easily available

i sugest going for the new one.. dont worry about the part because when the 1st G came out its parts weren't that easy to get either.. with the new model its more likely ull get one with less running and untouched body as compared to the old model.

i ave been using gen2 vitz from 1.5 yrs . . its on petrol and yes ita a great car . . although it have 3 cyl but its strokes are higher and it is GT head which makes ir faster . . my cousin own gen1 vitz on petrol . . 0-100 gen1 vitz is faster . . above 100 gen-2 takes lead . . u ave to b a bit more concious to keep the gen2 in good condition . . many says gen2 is noisy but when u ll understand the car its extremely quiet . . its noisy on higher revs dur to its CVT tranny . .

    some points of gen2 vitz
    - dohc gt head 3 cyl engin
    - electronic steering
    - only long reach spark plughs recommanded (Gives better
spark and only available in iridium)
    - it do not have air manifold sensor like 1st gen vitz
    - like Mark X and new 2008 LC it uses higher grade tranny
oil which is available at toyota outlets and it needs to
    be changed at 40,000 kms
    - oil filter is like merc no steel or element attached so
    no worries to get leaked
