There is resistance from BOTH sides to accept each others products. All the deals I have seen between india and pak are based on an "exchange" basis. Which I think is fare. If IT HAS TO BE A one way trade, then perhaps the indian govt should let pak products in!!! But I dontthink that is going to happen either.
I can however, understand the purpose of this thread/trade, that ofcourse it is good for the indian industry to sell more. But I seriously doubt that the purpose of the trade could possibly be that indian govt is simply sympathetic to pakistani people to supply (so called) "better" products!!!! IF indian govt is soooo sympethetic to pakistanis, then how comes river Ravi, and Chennab are dry today???? If there exists such sympathy then why kashmiris still need to fight and protest against the indian govt?? We need to understand and accept our differences AND that the purpose of this trade is simply to sell more products, and NOT because india wants to equip pakistan with (so called) better vehicles.
Also, our Pakistani market has long been open, to foreign cars way before india opened its market. Remember those days (not long ago), when we could only see very rediculously old looking cars with round headlights in the indian movies!! It is only after the indian govt allowed the import of foreign cars to general public that we see some better cars now. The point here is that india is at this current stage because they themselves forced people to buy those old styled cars that were locally made. Pakistan govt has not put a ban on imports from foreign markets, and hence people are free to buy locally made cars, or buy or bring in foreign made cars, which is a fair game, and also provides a fair healthy competetion. So after forcing people to buy only locally made old styled cars, now india wants other developing countries to import the indian cars???? double standards I say.
The fact is that, what hindustan wants to do to Pakistan, is very similar to what China wants to do to hindustan. Or in other words, what india wants Pakistan to allow, is exactly what inda doesnt allow for the chinese manufacturers!!!
Hence this kind of deal can only work on an exact exchange basis and have to be considered very carefully that it doesnt become a one way deal in the coming future. We need to accept we are who we are due to our history, although the history can not be re-written, but we can and should move on, growing better trade ties, on an "equal" basis.
