    Default Electronic Diesel Tuning Devices

With the advent of electronic control of diesel injection systems, a plethora of tuning devices have been released on the market to tempt the Land Cruiser performance enthusiast. With these devices, promises of improved power and torque are often realized so no matter which of the readily available chips or computers is chosen, gains will be felt through the seat of the pants.

One could easily draw the conclusion that they are all essentially the same. After all, they simply alter the state of tune of the engine in order to improve performance. One may quote a power figure and the other a tad less. And to confuse the issue further, the one quoting less power may, in fact quote more torque than the first, And so it goes...

Here we dont have solution to am efi diesel pump. Let alone performance enhancements but its definitely worth a read.

    Saqib Bhai

I've only ever really worked on a CRDI engine, and a little bit on a mechanical distributor-type injection (A Bosch-VE derivative). The type of pumps that this article deals with are the electronic distributor type-pumps, where you control fuel injection duration and start of fuel injection - or "timing" (which isn't technically correct since the effective timing depends on the duration of injection).

CRDI is a whole different kettle of fish however, true, it's very flexible, but I won't be too comfortable playing with it as it's darn difficult to get all the parameters correctly adjusted for more power. Plus any intercepting you do, would very likely just throw up error codes and put the engine into limp-home mode.

I suppose if you had an EFI diesel, you could analyse the signals going to the pump and intercept them. Ghuncha might be (gently - I might add :p) asked to whip up an interceptor of some sort.

    Cheers!

Our mechanics call it an EFI pump and if something goes bad, only option is to find a kabli one

Ah yes! Our dear Pakistani mechanics! Trust them to "fix" everything by making it worse. Not in all cases though, some are pretty good, but only in mechanical work - electronics and high precision components will flummox them.
