Why dont you guys compete in gwadar, jhal or cholistan rally? these are great events to test yourself and your vehicles and meet other off roading enthusiasts.

@sajjid bhai our rides are not meant for ralling purpose as they have slower engines and harder suspension. Our expertise is obstacle mode. We r more like rock climbing tuff train mudd bashing kinda group. We test our machines on different terrains and everytime we set out for some adventure we try to reach new limits with newer tracks found everytime.

tlcfj40: i know exactly what you mean. i enjoy the same, but unfortunately there are very people and even fewer places in karachi where such off roading can be done, so i do the next best thing, rallying (-:

@Sajidd and TLCFJ40.... Your comments are bit off the topic... but I would like to add my opinion ....

It is mandatory for all vehicles who want to do off-road actvities should have 4x4... and 4x4 are meant for hard core driving only however Rally dont require a compulsary 4x4... You can take part in Rallies in Cars also... but you dont even dare to try a track at E10 in your CAR...

LRD: Congrats on the Land Rover Club. Will join when I get my hands on a nice 90- or if i buy back my old 110.

In regards to the three major rallies in Pakistan, i dont think it is possible to compete and complete them in a regular car. 4x4 is a must.

There is a club in Karachi as well.4x4 Offroaders Club Karachi. Website is http://offroadpakistan.com .
I agree with Sajidd. 4x4 is a must in those rallies as well. Its just a different terrain, different techniques, different mods to the vehicles.

We have a club in Abbottabad called OffRoaders Unlmited we have events just three to four times a year so we are relatively dormant. Mostly its soft core off roading & excursion trips to places where 4x4 vehicles are required. I am a founding member & we started this club in 2001.
Members have vehicles from Toyota Land Cruisers to Mitsus, Land Rovers,Jeeps,Mercedes G Wagen, an Austin & a Unimog.
DEFENDERS ARE ADDICTIVE !! BUT THEN SO ARE DISCOS.

    Salaam to all,

@IJC, it is incorrect to suggest that since the suspention of your vehicles are hard hence they cannot compete in 4x4 rallies. You will be surprised to know that the rally suspention that you saw in Sardar Hassan's and Rashid's Vigo and Triton are extremly hard as well. The rally suspention is built to keep the vehicle stable during 8-10 feet high jumps at speeds of 150kms. The only difference in your vehicles and rally ones is that it is quite impossible to come up with any position with 1KZ engines, which most of your best prepared vehiclles had. For rally you need high speed vehicles that can reach 150-180 in a flash. Ofcourse, the driving skills are required to match the excessive speeds which people learn with experiance.

In any case, as member pf PMRC, my suggestion to IJC members is to prepare one or two members for the rallies as well.
