    Default Price of a CJ5, Peshawar Registered?

    Gents,

    A friend of mine is selling a CJ5 with Toyota 2400cc Turbo EFI Diesel engine. Prado interior and suspension with working 4x4, radial A/T tyres with hollow rims, soft top, Peshawar registered in 2009. Basically a 1965 model Jeep auctioned by the Army in 2003. the Jeep is in a beautiful condition but I can't post the photos fearing the owner would be offended.

    I need your help:
    1. What could be the estimated price of this vehicle.
    2. Is there any harm in driving a Peshawar registered vehicle in Lahore?

    Thank you.

    Cateyez,

    Thank you for your reply. yes Sir, it is a Red Jeep, but i'm not sure if We're talking about the same vehicle, because this Jeep has been parked in my friend's house for almost a year now as the owner was away.

    The market price that I've been able to figure out so far is between 325k to 350k for lahore and islamabad registered jeeps.

    My second concern is if there are any problems with driving a peshawar registered car in lahore. I'm not really concerned with resale at this moment.

    Once again, thank you for your interest in this post and I'll appreciate your input.

    @abujamal

    how r u doing sir,

    i think if u get it around 330k, it would be a great deal. as the jeep has the prado egine, suspension and most probably the tranmission wiil be from a prado too.

    The cj5 jeeps here in islamabad mostly have 3ct engine and rocky trans. and they sell around 330k.

    Regarding the registration no. ive been driving around the country in a nwfp registered vehicle and never had a problem.. just keep ur documents with u.

    Hope this helps

    Dear taimoorkhan sb,

    i'm fine, thanks and thank you for the detailed answer, it was surely very helpful. I have just received a copy of the jeep's documents and i need to trouble you with one more question, is the cj5 also called willy's m38a1, because the auction documents mention it as that. And since the jeep is now modified to look like a wrangler, one can't really tell the original shape. If willy's m38a1, [b] model 1963 [b] is not a cj5, would its market price be also around 330k? Thank you.

    @abujamal,

    sir, m38a1 is the military variant of cj5. basically both have same shape with very minor differences. regarding the price, there should be no difference.

    @AbuJamal

    Sir,

    I think there is no difference in the market of both jeep i.e., cj5 and m38a1. M38A1 is basically a military version of cj-5. Both the jeep have the same same shape. You can view my bro's (actually taimoorkhan's) m38a1 on the link given below. Btw he would be able to help you better and probably will answer you in evening.
