    Default Toyota Prado unresponsive engine

    Hi everyone.

I hope some one out here can help me out before I spend a bundle on an unnecessary repair. The problems with my Toyota Prado Diesel...and it goes something like this..when the steering is turned all the way in any direction, the car just sits there in when it's in Drive gear, and even when the gas pedals slightly pressed, and then when you give it enough gas it suddenly lurches forward. Used to be that it would move without gas as is with all auto's, even with full steering lock. Now ive noticed that this usually happens with the A/C on, and in order to make it move I have to straighten the wheels a little and then it moves fine. The drive otherwise is normal, and this only happens when the wheels are turned all the way in either direction, usually with the ac on. Here are some specs to help anyone if they have a solution. its a 2004 prado turbo diesel 3000cc. and it happens whether the cars fully loaded or not. Anyone having similar problems please let me know, and if anyones got a solution i'd really appreciate it. thanks in advance mates,

    Usman

    its like this

an auto car has a specific RPM, at which its set. and at that rpm it can drive without you pressing the pedal.

when u do a full lock on your prado, it eats some of that rpm and what is left dosent have enough power to move your heavy prado hence necessitating pressing of the acceleraator.

apart from that when you put the a/c on, it again eats up your rpm. try it, turn the a/c on, and do a full lock and see how much the rpm drops... if it didnt happen before then please get it checked and ask around what is the normal RPM of the diesel engine.

    hope it helps.

    Tip 4 Power Steering.
do not turn the steering wheel fully as at full turn the pump is at full load. turn it max before end. it will help the pump to live long.
