    @zol
    My apologies, didn't see your age back there, thanks jeepaholic for pointing it out. No offense meant, was just 'tarding around.

    Regarding the brakes, what you can do is get them serviced, change the leathers in the discs or whatever is in the drums. Get the wheels balanced and thats about it. I don't recommend the lowering. By the way whats the condition of the tyres?

    @saulat
    (Y) you got it man, i was just waiting for someone to point it out

    Let me give you a down right cheap way of improving your car's "PIC" and "BRAKING"

    1. For PIC fit skinniest tyres you can find and inflate them to about 40-45 psi.

    Congratulations, you accelerate faster.

    2. For braking fit as Fat a tyre as you can find and deplate it to 25-20 PSI. Even if you just press the clutch your call would start loosing speed quickly.

    down right cheap isnt it.

    For Pick: Try adding a couple of litres of petrol this time inplace of Diesel. Petrol fuel has better effeciency then all of its competitors... Try Hi-Octane even...

    For Brake: Dont worry! After applying the above formula, it will automatically be applied strongly after a couple of kilometers ... :-D

    yaar, kafi mazak ker liya hey.. ab jo pucha tha bhai nay ussay bata do.

    look buddy i lowered my cultus, 3" down. front per thori alteration kerwani perti hey if u have to lower it bit too much. but u have to be carfull while u drop ur car, i was the only one person who used the car, so i didnt had to worry for the weight thingy and bumps. but yeah on speed breakers and bumps i had to go dead slow coz otherwise shocks and tyres ki maan ko aaho.. the ppl in USA and other countries have good suspensions like skunk2 and other companies which design the suspension for lowering.
    secondly if u lower ur ride then tht means less life of ur shock absorber coz these are not designed for tht pressure.
    the only way is get old springs from bilal gunj and have atleast cut 3 coils of it and ur car will be down to earth. ur breaks will be improved too by lowering and road clearance would be better too. thts what i felt after i lowered my cultus. i dont know about diesel engine so cant tell u how to improve the acceleration(Pic) of ur car.

    aik kaam ker lo, take out all the seats and dashboard, remove the doors and trunk. plastiv ki chair rakh low Pic increase ho jaye gi shaid thori si.

    I have my Cultus got lowered in the same sense as mentioned above by ShezyWorld (by cutting the springs a couple of inches). I did this to minimize the after-shocks in going over brakers and improper roads (as my father had his operation recently, and there was risk with him in car for shocks). The ride got a lot smoother. You can even avoid bumps and brakers to touch the body by driving in angle over them. Drive also improved a little. But it did not, and I mean it did not increased pick in any way.
    There might be a case of road grip improvement, but I felt nothing such too. My tyres are Dunlop 175/75/13
    So no use of such an alteration, except a smoother ride. But hey you have to seriously watch if there are 3 "mushtandays" sitting at the back... It will definately make problems over khi roads.

    @Zol
    You can easily get a VTi in replacement of your 2.0D, if you want such an improvement in pick. Then you wont have any complains with the pick :-) or even otp to Platz (1300 cc)
