    Default Chery QQ (Experience)

    Mod Edit: Dig
    Dear All,

I have recently purchased Chery QQ and its a good experience having a small compact car at a reasonable price. Till now all the cars in 800 cc were not offering such value additions as Chery has offered. The drive is excellent, the Gears are a bit harder than any other car of its range, which the dealer is claiming will become normal after some time. Fuel average I will quote when I will fill up the tank again. The seats are very comfortable, the interior is excellent. Quality control needs some improvement. Over all the car is good and I hope that I will be enjoying its ride. If any 1 wants to know more about this car. You are welcome to call me at 042-8419006.

    May Allah Help Us All....

Here are some pics of FF CNG QQ. I think the installation was done by Pak Chery Karachi as it does not look FF to me. The CNG Stand is a dead give away. The Kit is from Tesla and is even smaller than my GasPetro. However the installation job is much better than the one my CNG installer did. At only Rs.10k aditional i think one cannot get a better deal anywhere in Pakistan!

    Thoughts at 8000Kms:

    My QQ is doing
    - 70kms on Rs.180 of CNG (40kg cylinder) in city with AC (Rs.2.58/km) and
    - 106km on long (GT Rd)=Rs.1.7/km

The car is going great on Petrol but the CNG installer did a horrible job and the kit is making banging noise with engine and body metal whenever the car hits a bump or accelerates as he did'nt install it sturdily.
Also i think he did not install Advancer grip-to-grip because the acceleration on CNG is very erratic (no problem on petrol). Not only that but few days ago i came home, parked the car and went inside, after 5 mins I heard loud hissing noise from garage. Came out into garage and gas was leaking from the front of the car at high pressure and there was smell of gas everywhere. I immediately opened the trunk and closed the cylinder's valve, which stopped the gas leaking. Took it to the installer who said that something broke inside the kit which he replaced free of cost. God forbid if the gas had caught light i could have lost the car and the house not to mention my life!

So to recap - dont get CNG installed from Total Pump, Lower Mall, Lahore. I'm going to get the kit properly fitted by PakChery JR Motors or someone else reliable (any recomendations?) if they dont do it.

that's a good reminder that cheap things are dangerous.
mehran is an xcelent car(i own one) but when it comes to safety , it even lacks even basics. however it is cheaper than cherry qq. so my advise is don't convert to cng. a kilometer will definately cost 3.5 to 4 rs but it will be lot more safer. life is more precious than money.

I was seriously planing of converting to cng but then i dropped the idea as i was enjoying the luxury of more expensive sedan, then why convert to cheaper fuel and face new problems. specially when you know the standered of pakistain mechanics.
if you realy want a cheap ride than go for pre-installed cng car. however don't forget this engine was designed for petrol so you might face some problems. However good luck from my side for what ever you do next.

    Hi everyone

I got all the CNG kinks and bugs fixed from the same installer! Now the car is handling like a dream on CNG. No more rattling sound (CNG kit securely fastened) and pick has improved dramatically (Advancer was not properly calibrated to my car, after making the adjustment to the advancer its working great - PVR advancer is absolutely fine for this car).

Now the pick is great even on AC+CNG (0-60 in about 13s). Its pretty amazing for a 800cc engine specially considering its much heavier weight compared to Mehran. This car absolutely rocks! no issues at all. Solid body, great ride and suspension, great seats, good AC, good noise insulation, better interior and finish than chevy, santro or Cultus, great value added features unmatched by any local car and everything works! I recommend this car to everyone. Best car in Sub-5lac category.

Has anyone driven his/her QQ more than 15000 Km yet? How does the car behave? How long does it take to start giving trouble compared to Coure?

Well i've driven my QQ upto 8000km so far and i have a good idea of its build quality and its very good. I have no doubt the car will easily last 3-5 years without any hiccups.

    Hard to believe it's Chinese.

Just did 70km on Rs.180 of CNG, so no change in consumption after fixing of my kit/advancer issues. The ride of this car is superb!

I have a 40 kg cylinder installed now for the last 8 months. Since start of summers....with AC it was giving me consumption of between 70-85 km. I was really stepping on the accelerator all the time as I was always short of time. Few weeks back, I thought I should cool down....and started giving my car some more respect....Now I drive it upto 100 km on CNG (MAX), with gear changing at 3.5 RPM...and the results were tremendous...now its giving me an average of about 110 km for 40 kg cylinder (usually gas filled for Rs 175/-)...the only point is...stop touching the accelerator to the floor all the time.
I have Chery now for more than 10 months and driven it for 13000 km. I can say with my experiance that this car is worth every money spent on it. Still enjoying its ride and all accesories.
