    Great work. Is it the same Buddha statue which was brought down by Talibans a few year back. There was a lot of hue and cry in international press and I personally know Taliban lost a lot of support from Japan, Korea and China where people still worship buddha. In China there are many Buddha statues and amazingly they have the same features as those found in Taxila, Takht Bai(Near Mardan) and pieces displayrd in Lahore muesem. Any how voyager please tell us more how people of Afghanistan treat Pakistanis. Are they still friendly or are wary of our alliance with USA.

    @Voyager

    I can see the fear, surrounding the environment....

    Its a shame to see what happened to the monument but it was done with a cause for good which went wrong.

    Its going to be a big debate so we better stick to the topic.

    So, how's life there Malik Sahib! You were MIA for a long time, but thanx Allah, we saw u after all.

    Don't just publish pictures, give a sneaky story behind each.... lol!!

    Anyway, Heartiest Welcome Back to PakWheels.

    @mics420

    Yes this is the site of two of the world’s tallest Buddah statues located in the Bamyan province of central Afghanistan.
    We also have the Taxila-Gandhara, called “Golden Civilizations”. Sirkap & Sirsukh the second & third old time cities of Taxila.
    And the remains of Gandhara Art, the Lotus City, and the remains in Bala Hisar.

    I have faced no problem here and I have found people here are friendly with us.

    @Salarzae,

    Thank u for ur concern “MIA”. Alhumdulilah I M fine, safe & sound. Regarding story, I didn’t put bcos U know this can lead us away from the topic.
    But briefly, I got a chance to visit this place as this it is an historic place. This place is Bamyan province of central Afgahnistan. Bamyan is a historic place where once world’s tallest Buddah’s of 5th & 6th Century A.D were. Now they only have remains left over.
    This place is 8 to 9 hours drive from Kabul and a very thrilling drive to enjoy.
    Thanks once again brother.
