This whole thing is very Simple...
Support Pakistani Companies for a Better Pakistan Tomorrow.
Support IMPORTED GOODS, for a Better
Japan, Korea, China, EUROPE, US, Tomorrow...
They only way a country becomes Well Off is by Exporting MORE and Importing LESS.
Till now we are doing the Opposite. We are Importing MORE and Exporting Very Little. The Net Deficit now has ballooned to 7 Billion Dollars in just 6 months, and probably will be 14 or 15 Billion Dollar by the end of this Fiscal Year in June-2006.
So, Look at these numbers CAREFULLY.
God, why don't they TEACH FINACE in Pakistani SCHOOLS, at Primary or High School Level.
Can not emphasize more how critical it is to EDUCATE the general public that, the way you generate jobs in any country is make the products yourself. If the country is not at that level, then and then you Import the Absolutely CRITICAL products, commodities.
Our situation is reverse here too, Pakistan is IMPORTING even basic food items, like edible OIL, and Wheat, and corn from other INDUSTRIALIZED countries, and we are an Agricultural agrarian economy.
This all needs to change. Farming needs to be mechanized, more tractor need to be built and sold to farmers at lower leasing rates.
Cars need to be built completely in Pakistan and be run on CNG to reduce the Machinery and OIL bill.
Who will do all this, government is not alone, people equally share the burden. If people keep demanding bigger, more expensive IMPORTED cars, the country will continue to suffer.
Look at Chinese, uptil 1980s, they were mostly going to work on BICYCLES and motorcycles, after they started building cars, they have generated a boom. They NEVER Imported FULLY Built UP cars, like we have been, uptil Suzuki came in. But that too is just an assembler and not a car manufacturer. The only Fully Pakistani Company with some hope for Pakistan's future is Adam Motors. They can revolutionize Pakistan's Auto Industry, if SUPPORTED whole heartedly.
Now the choice is your, Keep on Importing the cars, or help make Pakistan into a CAR EXPORTING country, and change the status of Pakistan from one of the POOREST nations of the world into one with flourishing industry and plenty of jobs for all, healthy and prosperous citizens.
THINK THINK THINK...
