Almost everyone in Pakistan is doing corruption to the extent they can. Our leaders are doing at the level they can do. So why should we complain?

You hardly lack variety, after snow and gravel you had your first WRC rally on tarmac. Satisfied?
Generally yes, our speed was good. Okay, it was disappointing though that we didn’t finish were we could have been, in the top 4. But most important was that we learned much again. On the second and third day it wasn’t easy to have the same motivation than in the beginning when we were fighting for the top places. Altogether I’m still happy.

Is the time difference to Sebastien Loeb like you expected it?

It was the first time that I did a tarmac rally against Loeb. How should I have an exact idea what to expect? On some places we were not so far off.

As an ex-F1 driver you certainly feel more comfortable on tarmac. Are you working there already more on details?
The difference is not that big although I feel more home on asphalt. But rally driving is and will remain something totally different to circuit races. When we set up the rally car it is the same procedure. You handle a programme, no matter if it’s gravel or tarmac. I’m still lacking the experience in rally. That’s why I not only trust my feeling but also listen to the tips of the team.

Is rally after half a season still passion or already daily business?

No, I still have a lot to learn, so it’s rather not daily business. I like driving rallies, it’s a great challenge for me.

How far are you with your process of learning?
Still at the beginning. In rally there is nothing like experience. Everything is very complex, that can’t be learned in some months.

In which areas you see most likely room for improvement?

Everywhere, really. Everything is new for me, I’m learning all the time. One fundamental point we have to work on is the notes. That’s something which doesn’t exist on the circuit but in rally sport it’s an important factor of success. With the right notes you can gain a lot of speed.

And where you have improved the most?

I don’t think that there is this one point. The point is to improve everything together, the whole package – to learn as much as possible. I feel now much stronger than at the beginning of the season, in all areas. But we have to continue working and learning.

Are there things in the rally championship you imagined differently?
No, basically everything is like I expected it. From last year I had a bit of experience, so I could imagine how things will come. But if you want to improve only experience counts. A circuit you can learn in some hours, with rally that will take much longer.

Where can you benefit from your experience in F1?
Like I said before, rally and circuit are actually completely different, there is no comparable point. Of course on tarmac rally there are some things which are similar like for example the quickest curve. The driving style is still pretty different, in the race car you want anything but drifting. To drive as clean as possible that applies for both.

How about your setup in WRC? You said at the beginning of the season that you will start more or less with the same setup like your team mates. Is that now different?
Actually we start every rally with a very similar setup. Later I, like the others too, let the team make little changes to have a better feeling for the car. Once we want the car to turn in better or we change the height of the car. Luckily the team has a lot of experience with the car and they can give me good advices.

How difficult is it for you to trust someone else in the car?
You mean the relationship to my co-driver? That’s very good. My co Kaj Lindström is a great guy with plenty experience, that helps me a lot. For me the point is to make good notes and to use them optimal. We are working on it and it’s getting better every rally.

Which rally has you surprised the most?
But for me all WRC rallies are new – apart from Finland. All and everything is new. But the most special event this season was Jordan. The surface and the character of the rally changed all the time. It was very important to work precisely with the notes. We got our first points there, a nice memory.

What do you know about ADAC Rallye Deutschland?

Not much. I know it is a tarmac rally with very different surfaces and that Loeb has won there several times. That’s it.

Germany is a “Racing” country. Is it a special feeling, as an ex F1 driver to contest there now with a WRC rally?
Not really. I’m not thinking about something like this. I start every rally the same way. So Germany is a rally like every other rally.

They say that in F1 the relation car to driver is 60:40. How is that in rally?

I don’t know. I don’t have the experience yet to value that exactly. It depends on so many different things, if you just look at the surfaces and the tactics. In rally there are probably more variations than in F1. When I was driving Grand Prix, the top cars were pretty close, a driver could make a big difference.

How often do you have contact with your buddy Sebastian Vettel? Do you get information about F1 from him?

From time to time we talk but that’s not so often. If, then we talk about F1, rally but also about other things, just normal things.

What would have to change that you come back to F1?

It is not so much the question what would have to change. The point is to have the right options. I had some opportunities to stay in F1 this season. But they were not the right ones. That’s why I’m now here.

The fight for the F1 championship is close. Who will be world champion?
I think it will be a duel between McLaren and Red Bull. The Red Bull is the quicker car, but they had some problems with reliability. The drivers are pretty close. McLaren also did a good job, especially Lewis Hamilton. I guess it will be very close.

What do you think can we expect from Michael Schumacher in the second half of the season?
Hard to say, I don’t know. He is a seven time world champion so obviously good. It is always also a question of the car, motivation and many other things.

How about your future? Is there a decision to continue rally?
You can be certain that as soon as I make a decision I will let everybody know. There are always options to do different things. I need to find the right one for me.

When can we expect your decision?
When I made it.

UK is on a real vacations as he has said it awhile back so may be he will start posting when just before Belgian GP 2 weeks from now.

You are doing the same thing by posting different news pieces like what I did last season, I am not a regular poster on PW before last season but from last season I am a regular poster, so keep posting different news pieces, may be you could start next season's topic.

Extensive consultancy has taken place with a range of F1 professionals, including race engineers, mechanics and drivers. The full pit lane, featuring each team in their various stages of strategy, becomes home to tense and exciting moments of drama as the drivers and crew work to return their car to the race as fast as possible.

Hello Lady ( there is only one )and gentlemen , Hope all of you are well. Thank you all for remembering me, especially you, the special one Yeah, no plane went down so it was safe to assume i was alive some where. So, hello from a slightly far off place, 10 C right now and it's early morning. The only problem, roza is about 18 hours long, Sehri at 2:57 Am and Iftar at 93 PM.

Eddie the drug dealer, like most drug dealers, you seem to be one who prays regularly. Is there anyway i can get out of this, any technicality? Like can i say i am travelling and hence it's okay not to fast? Help me man, it's a little over 18 hours

Paula seems to have been doing pretty good and posting some interesting stuff while WTE takes it easy during the summer break. A lot has happened, the biggest news obviously is Rossi's move, but that is for a separate thread to discuss.

My favourite moment of the year has to be Webber celebrating his Monaco win, since my real favourite moment has not been included, " Fernando is quicker than you, can you confirm you understand that message " That retarded message, for me is the highlight of the season or shall i say the low point In it's absence, i picked Webber's Monaco celebration.
Come back, Luca Badoer, all is forgiven.

@UK
Good to see you Bro, so you are in Britain hence my suspicion was correct that you are the one who has done that superb job at Birmingham, Hats off to you for that. One thing is for sure even shoes don't like our beloved president either.

No bro, the biggest news is Andy Murray has beaten Federer and Nadal again to win Rogers Cup in America.

I was thinking of celebrating this week as a tribute week to Barrichello as he is about to achieve a huge milestone in Spa, so what you think about that???

An easy way of cutting short your Roza is to do sehri in UK and come back Pakistan for ifftar. How about that???

Great suggestion rather then help me with it, you are making it even longer. Come on yaar, imagine less than 6 hours to do your Iftar and Sehri. One feels sick eating so much so soon.

Yeah, i am in Britain, it's northern most part, home to DC, and Andy Murray. Sadly, I watched the final and also Federer's semi-final match. He had played long matches and was really tired but you are right, it's big news because Murray beat Federer and Nadal on his way to the title.

As much as i would like to take credit for the shoe episode, sadly it wasn't me wish it was me. Couldn't have said it better, even shoes don't like khapey but bravo to that old man for doing what he did -Formula 1 - Season 2010 - - icon14

Good that i saw you on-line, wanted to ask if that thurki has been asking for " treats " in Ramadan

You are right about celebrating Barrichello's 300th GP. I think he has come out with a T-shirt for the special occasion. Good luck to him, it's been a long time, 17 years i think, right? And he is already looking to 2011.
Come back, Luca Badoer, all is forgiven.

Oh forgot one thing, you just need to hire one of those grounded Concorde's from British Airways for that purpose. Those will certainly help you in taking you back home in less then 3 hours.

Until now no request from him for any more treats but i am pretty sure he will be requesting after Spa if Alonso achieves a win there.

@m_waqas
What not to discuss about Barrichello, survives the most horrible crash on the blackest weekend of F1 where he lost his ideal in F1. Over 18 years of F1 and still in a good competitive mood looking for another year of F1. There are many things to discuss about Rubens, just wait till the discussion kicks off.

Bro, we are living in warm weather, so 14 hours of roza helps us to use the most of our meal that we have taken during ifftar and sehri, but UK is in cold weather as he already said that it was 10C where he is living and an 18 hour roza will certainly needs a lot more energy specially in cooler conditions to get your body warm which is not the case in warm weather.

As for my taking of Eddie's stuff, I want to know what you are taking because you want to get the pirated version of that game which is even not available in market, that game is scheduled to be release on 24th of Sep. next month.

What you found a bootlegger, remain careful because there may be some shoehurler looking for you because of doing that kind of stuff in Ramadan.

Before replying to your question do you know how many women has taken part in F1 racing.

Now the reply to your question, Danica is now don't deserve a seat in F1 but in her early years she was something on which the whole IRL depends, so if she gets a chance at that time then she could do some thing amazing, nowadays she is only interested in NASCAR and IRL and not in F1 at all as she said a while back in an interview.

As for Bernie, I would say give him a break he always comes up with ridiculous plans just to make more money for himself, if a woman enters in F1 nowadays he will start looking for a Muslim F1 driver thats for sure, his most comments are just means that he has think of a new way off making more money and nothing else.

@UK
Seriously, you have to bear the 18 hour roza because there is no rule which says anything about the duration of roza so the duration is dependant on from Fajr to Maghrib, whether it is only 10 hours winter roza or in your case 18 hours summer roza.

Just for your information, I have read in a children's magazine "Naunehal", during my child hood that Hakeem Saeed has once have done a 21 hours long roza as he was in Norway in summer and Norway is in that part of the world where 6 months day and 6 months nights are been observed.

I would suggest meet some Aalim to discuss this matter as Namaz can be perform in shorter format if you are on journey outside your home city, so may be there could be an exception for roza too.

^you can perform shorter Namaz but only if you have plan to get back home within 15 days (i think I m correct Here Please Do Correct me if i m wrong ) if you are willing to stay more than that then you have to perform Normal Namaz..... And yes Do Meet some Aalim and Do Let us Know What he says coz we have never asked it (i think we all) so it will be helpful info for us too

You are 100% correct about shorter format Namaz that it is only allowed to perform when you are outside your home city for less then 15 days, but you miss my point I was referring to journey rather then staying in another city that you are allowed to perform shorter format Namaz through out your journey time from one city to another. But there is no such kind of rule for Roza, rather it is as simple as if you are in journey you should not perform roza at all.

In 1989, I went to India to meet my grandfather and uncles, and we have to travel from train as this journey was in Ramadan so my parents have not perform roza on the 2 days of travel from Karachi to Aligarh, but from third day they start performing roza again. I think you got my point clearly.
