    If the rain continued today and as well as tomorrow morning as it has been forecasted, there is an interesting rule for such situation

    "Sporting Regulations 36.2:
    If multiple drivers fail to set a time their qualifying position will be the order in which they tried to set a lap and then the order in which they left the pits. Failing that, car number order will be used to decide grid positions. "

    thats a pathetic rule to be honest ... i gather there's another rule too which could be applicable in this situation.. i don't know the exact wording but it goes like.. if quali didn't take place, starting grid would be set up according to the championship points...

    but there is one problem with this rule as well, what will happen to those who have same points or backmarkers having 0 points each ...

    for them..number of wins...oe podium..or best lap...or best position work out.....this was for the championship thing...if them use for race it may work out

    @m_waqas and rozzzzz
    Well there are many different rules been applied under different circumstances, like even in this regulation that I mentioned 3 ways are been define for same thing. Last year it was I think FP3 times have to be counted if qualy washed out and then the one rule that you have mentioned that of deciding grid based on championship standings. But now we have this rule for this season so lets see what happens in the qualifying.

    The real question for all the teams is what happens if some one crashes in Qualifying and the damage could be that much that it is not repairable within time for the race, certainly that driver will miss the race, imagine if such thing happens to anyone of the 5 contenders, it would be disastrous for them and then we will hear the affected team and driver moaning about that rule and asking for a change. The reason is the last time when we have qualy on Sunday was back in 2004 and teams have one spare car in the garage for such incidents, now they don't have that facility.

    I am really looking forward for qualifying.
