    SuperFast pitstops start to get me worrying because they could become a way to create controversy and most likely pitlane will show dramas like IRL and CART days. What you think.

    @genius83

    Sub two seconds, that's crazy! I remember sub four second stops, but that was a long time ago and those were mostly by Mclaren, who used to be super fast at changing tires. Williams were always slower and often made mistakes. Times have changed, and as teams say they have super light equipment now. Still, sub two second stops will lead to mistakes at you pointed out. There is the lighting system that some teams will use, the famous Ferrari stops come to mind plus teams might be releasing cars in the way of others, leading to penalties.
    It might vary from race to race, and how teams are relative to others. If one team is out in-front, they won't be taking unnecessary risks but if the racing is close as is expected then we might see some teams especially the new ones and the middle of the grid teams making mistakes. How all these pitstops will affect a race, i don't know because this year two things are quite obvious. One, the car pitting a lap or two earlier than another will have a big advantage, that one lap on new tires could be worth two, three seconds. So the car running longer won't have any advantage this year. The second thing, which doesn't have much to do with pitstops but still will be very different is how cars run behind the safety car this year. Unlike previous years, cars this year will be trying to go as fast as possible and burn as much fuel as they can behind safety car. Some rumours doing the rounds, that middle of the grid teams might even start races, on tracks where there is a high possibility of safety car, with five to ten laps less fuel to get them to the end, and go slowly behind the safety car to cover that. Having less fuel will obviously help them in qualifying.
    Come back, Luca Badoer, all is forgiven.
