    Excellent drive by Webber, Vettel, Kubica but awesome driver by Alonso and how does lost position on the final lap. I am still amazed by that only Schumacher could done that.

    well done webber...but to be honest .race was boring........even though overtaking was not possible..yet all cars seemed to be powered equally....

    all those end runners were banging thier cars into side walls letting SC come in...and again closing the gap....which helped no 1

    @alonso.....
    he is a fighter...but at same time very lucky

    @all

    guys m not that much in to the current year rule changes....but how come alonso did full race with almost no stop......

    Mean the first stop was just after a lap..and all running on 1 stop ...and noticing in last few races the same thing

    boring is an understatement,... i've finally watched an entire F1 race for the first time since 1998(ish),.. and i have to admit, the racing is still pathetic. gone are the overtakng maneuvers which made you sit on the edge of your chair,... nowdays it's all about pit stops.

    now i remember why i hate "modern" F1 so much.

    Happy Kubica laments poor start<!-- end title -->
    Robert Kubica says a poor start from second on the grid probably cost him second place in the Monaco Grand Prix.

    @rozzzzz
    Well Alonso starts from the pits, with supersoft compound tyres and because of the first lap Safety Car he was able to use the mandatory both compund usage rule after completing one lap on those and then takes the Prime compund that is Medium and takes it all the way to the finish.

    If there would be no SC on the first lap then he most likely could done only 10 or so laps and then takes the prime compound and take it to the end. Without refuelling cars carry enough fuel from start to finish. One pitstop is enough until now in the season in normal dry races.

    I know what happens with Alonso, but I think that pass was illegal because under safety car conditions one cannot overtake till crossing the start/finish line. I think it is under investigation by the stewards and most likely a disqualification for Michal is around the corner or may be a 25 sec stop go penalty.

    Moncao is one of those tracks where overtaking is almost impossible hence the overly boring race most people complained but there is more to a race than overtaking. On such tracks, one gets to witness the precision of drivers and strategic thinking of teams.

    Schumachers move on Alonso was beautiful! Goes on to show he has the fighting spirit to take it to the last corner. According to him, he saw the green flag and and he overtook. I dont care what the stewards decide, because for me it signals the return of pre 06 Schumacher. The way he overtook Alonso and the start of the race where he outclassed Rosberg.

    Schumacher expecting no penalty<!-- end title -->

    Michael Schumacher believes there is no reason to be penalised for his incident with Fernando Alonso in the Monaco Grand Prix.

    Williams to investigate crash causes
    Williams says it will urgently investigate the mechanical problems that caused heavy crashes for both Nico Hulkenberg and Rubens Barrichello in Monaco.

    @Blackeye117
    Yes, I am expecting a penalty because he has violated a rule.

    Huge gamble by Alonso and Ferrari, which paid off handsomely. Starting on options from the pitlane-they probably felt there was nothing to lose. Got the reward too early and a big thank you card will be going to Hulkenburg, maybe he crashed a lap or two early though.

    Webber, a lovely race. Building a lead, seeing it evaporate time and again, but keeping him composure. Drove faultlessly. What might have been if the right Ferrari was up there we would never know. Vettel never seemed to be able to get close.

    A lot of confusion about the end, Two different rules, one is- that allows for cars to start racing after the SC line-which keeps on being moved from circuit to circuit, depending on the layout and entry into the pitlane. It seems seems to have happened in China a few times this year. It's quite confusing, but the rule that will probably trump that, and had Schumacher a penalty is;

    40) SAFETY CAR
    40.14 If the race ends whilst the safety car is deployed it will enter the pit lane at the end of the last lap and the cars will take the chequered flag as normal without overtaking.

    As this was not a normal re-start, i.e. with laps to go and was the last lap, a penalty awaits Schumacher most probably but there are gray areas. This one could go on for sometime because both the rules in play are quite contradictory.
    Come back, Luca Badoer, all is forgiven.

    @Everyone

    YouTube - Formula One 2010: Brawn defends Schumacher's overtake of Alonso at the Monaco GP

    The above video clearly explains why Schumacher wont get a penalty and what he did was absolutely legal. If he still gets a penalty then I do not know about Mercedes but I am surely writing to World Motorsport Council

    LOL! Have to post this in a little detail.

    Schumacher expecting no penalty<!-- end title -->

    Michael Schumacher believes there is no reason to be penalised for his incident with Fernando Alonso in the Monaco Grand Prix. Schumacher overtook Alonso on the final corner of the final lap to take sixth position away from the Spaniard, but the incident is under investigation as the safety car had just left the track.
    "No, not really, no," said Schumacher when asked if he expected a penalty.
    "I think there is either this message, or there is the message 'track clear' and 'safety car in' and that was the message that was given to all of us and when this message is out it means track clear and back to racing. The cars were removed. There was no further need [for the safety car] so I took my opportunity."
    He is also expecting former rival Damon Hill, acting as an advisor for the race stewards this weekend, to understand the situation.
    "It will be interesting. He is a good guy so I'm sure he will understand the situation and it's normal that the other team has a different opinion but we have to see. Maybe we missed something that we are not aware of."
    The sporting rules state that, "If the race ends whilst the safety car is deployed it will enter the pitlane at the end of the last lap and the cars will take the chequered flag as normal without overtaking."
    The argument, however is whether the race finished under the safety car or this came into the pits as it would normally do after a period controlling the race.
    Mercedes team boss Ross Brawn reckons the race finished as normal, and therefore there should be no penalty for Schumacher.
    "There's a regulation which is new this year that says you can race between safety car line one and the start/finish line," Brawn told the BBC. "The race used to finish on the start/finish line. Now I think the point Stefano [Domenicali] is raising is it says that if the race finishes under the safety car you are not allowed to do that.
    "But we were advised before the end of the race that the safety car was coming in. There was no instruction that the race was going to finish under the safety car, so for us as soon as we got the instruction 'safety car in this lap' at 15:51 we considered the race was now on again.
    "At 15:52 we were told the track was clear and and at 15:53 was the chequered flag. So, from the instructions we have from the FIA, the safety car was coming in on the final lap but the race wasn't finishing under the safety car and it's a very important distinction so we advised our drivers that they could still race between safety car line one and the start/finish line.
    "And I think you saw the reaction of all the other drivers. If what Stefano has said was true, they would just cruise to the start/finish line because they knew they couldn't be overtaken, but everyone went for it and I'm afraid Fernando was a little asleep and we took advantage."
    Come back, Luca Badoer, all is forgiven.

    40) SAFETY CAR
    40.14 If the race ends whilst the safety car is deployed it will enter the pit lane at the end of the last lap and the cars will take the chequed flag as normal without overtaking.

    If you watch the video I have posted your confusion will be cleared. Also read the 40.14 you quoted. It says IF the race ends......The race did not ended under safety car. Safety car was recalled on the penultimate lap. As I said, everything is explained in the video

    schumi boy loves controversy...
    i'd love to see a penalty not b/c i hate him or something like that but because i want him to understand that its no more only his F1 world..

    @mani
    ok mani what i understand and what UK has written is that if race is going to end under safty car then safety car will enter the pits cause there's no point crossing the line with F1 cars as nobody's allowed to overtake till start/finish line...thats what i think...

    rule 40.14 is quite clear...but obviously everyone/every team is gonna interpret it in its favor...cheers..

    @eddie
    thanks buddy...u're getting quite informative day by day...planing to transcend steve ....

    lol only goes on the prove that even at the age of 41 people are jealous and looking for excuses here and there to beat the greatest driver of all time rather than outright beating him on the track

    Another video proves Schumachers move was legal!!!

    YouTube - Formula One 2010 Season: Schumacher overtaking Alonso at the Monaco GP

    @mwaqas
