    Angry Bank took car back

Salam to all, today in the morning when my father was coming back home after dropping my sister to school, four men came and told him that they are private agency personel and representative of the bank which we leased our car from. They told him that they were following us for two days now and all the time there was a family member present so they didn't take any action, now they have to impound the car due to only "two" un-paid installments. So they took the car.

When my father went to the bank and asked them what amount should be paid for the fine and the release of the car, they said that according to the new bank policy we have to pay the full remaining amount along with 25,000 Rs. charges for the impound.

I mean, only two unpaid installments and no notice, no nothing and they been following us for two days, what kind of BS is this???

Is this a way to treat a client who has been paying the installments on time for about 3 years now!!! The bank is "United Bank Limited". Beware people who have any installments short, take precaution.

We can manage to pay the remaining “two” installments and the fine, could anyone suggest how is there any way to get the car back without full payment???

Strange. We call for justice, and whenever it is addressed towards us, we call it BS.

Sorry if I come out blunt, but by contract you should have paid your installments in time. Period.

firstly 2 installments not paid......even if u have been paying for 3 years....any bank will impound the car....and they are ready to take the risk again thats why they are asking u to pay full and thirdly if the bank has decided to make u buy the car then u cant change their decision at any case cuz it's their policy...

so buy the car or they will auction it and will have the amount that is to be paid and will give u rest of the amount...

and yah bango said it right......bank is doing wat they are supposed to do..u should have paid at time...

make an FIR that car is snatched on the road.
Not paying the installments is an offense but snatching a car on the road is a big crime and punishable under court of law
Besides bank has no written proof that u handed over the car in case of failure of paying installments and No bank official took car from u.
So it is a clear case of car snatching by those individuals not the bank and you can also mention that car is being spoted at certain location.

Its the banks asset, they have a right to reclaim it. Only two unpaid installments? Give me a break, you deserved what happened.

That is justice, nothing to whine about. At least they have the decency to not to impound the car while your family was in it. You should be thankful to them.

Now just pay the fine and buy the car, otherwise aap ko us se bhi hath dhona parayga.

If you read the contract you signed at the time of leasing, it clearly states that terms & conditions can change with or without notice.
Plus its not a new Bank's POLICY, it is State Bank of Pakistan's policy that was implemented last year June. Bank gave you a leverage for two months, other wise the law actually says that bank can impound the vehicle even if its only one payment.
Plus your contract also states that if due to non-payment, bank impounds your car, you will have to pay the full amount.
Do read the contract before you actually go ahead and sign it, specially in financial matters.

bank initially gives warnings and intimation if client doesn't responce so such situation will be created. Also for all readers who want leasing the car please give contact number to bank which will remain in your custody upto end of lease tenure.

well its the normal bank procedure they hire recovery ppl who have bank notices with them and they also inform your nearest police station b4 taking the car so that it doesnt look like a snatch,,,,
all u can do is settle with bank on there terms u can though get a stay order against auction of ur car but it can just buy u time,,,,
u could of also got a waive off in rest amount if u still had the car,,,,
ppl who know bank rules well do that they short the instalment then hide the car so when the bank ppl come to them they can make a deal of rest of bank amount,,, they dont pay the intrest on remaining amount insted gat some waive of like 10 to 30% om the remaining amount, for exemple
if ur instalment is say 10000, and is 12 month remaining,,,so taking out the interest say 20000,, the actual amount u owe bank is 100000 so u get a waive of of like 20% and u only pay 80000 insted of 120000 what was ur actual instalment plan,,,
so next time u short any instalment even 1 (some banks take car back even on 1 shortage) either pay it or hide the car,,,,,

^^ exactly!! And Getting a car leased is no joke, its a tough job 2 handle such a responsibility.. Otherwise this is the normal procedure, they trace ur car and impound it. 2 un paid installments are too much, i guess they wud have been after u by a long time, wht i knw is they take less time than tht 2 impound, bt u still got a full xtra month!!

And Fir is against bank 2 get back its own asset is a funny thing!!

you deserved it 100% and you say you can pay the 2 installments and the fee......yet you did not pay the installments on time meaning you did not pay them on purpose. Shame.
