No let up for poleman Lorenzo
Jorge Lorenzo’s second pole of 2010 was secured on Friday afternoon as the World Championship leader maintained his strong hold on the TIM TT Assen, having topped both free practices before his lap time of 1’34.515 in qualifying made it three sessions in a row.

Deserved second spot for delighted De Puniet
Randy de Puniet had waited three years for a front row grid position when he started from second spot last weekend at Silverstone, and now the Frenchman has secured two in the space of two races after another fantastic qualifying performance at the TIM TT Assen.

Good start the key for Dovizioso
The Repsol Honda of Andrea Dovizioso will start from sixth place on the grid for tomorrow’s TIM TT Assen after a tricky qualifying session for the factory Honda rider at Assen today. The Italian is looking to make improvements to his race set-up ahead of tomorrow’s 26-lap encounter after today’s two MotoGP sessions did not yield the results he was looking for.

Stoner happy with front row start
Casey Stoner was third fastest in qualifying for the TIM TT Assen on Friday after a fast lap towards the end of the hour saw the Ducati Team rider get within 0.288s of Jorge Lorenzo’s pole position time.

    Melandri already focused on Catalunya
Marco Melandri had an unfortunate early end to his Friday at the TIM TT Assen when a highside crash in FP2 resulted in a dislocated shoulder for the San Carlo Honda Gresini rider.

"Fear is part of people's life. Some of them don't know how to face it, others — where I include myself — learn coexisting with it or face it, not as a negative thing, but like a autoprotection sensation."
