Well.... people think and in some instances are right, that Army officer's take care of thier cars more then anything else...... and thats the reason its a common notion that they are clean cars..... so, its kind of luring a fish through singing Army Army as a bait!
Here in UAE, "Unwanted Gift", "European Owner" and "Lady Driven" is fatal attraction... lol!!!
This Space Intentionally Left Blank.
@salarzae, interesting... but as you mentioned it's no guarantee that every army officer owned car would be taken care of. I'm not sure how many army officers we have as members here, but members here surely take care of their cars as well !

In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
@armyboy, you're one honest muslim my brother !
It takes a lot to tell the truth in public. Even though most people would know it, regardless of what the topic is, it is only the few who voice it.
May Allah bless you and keep you on the right path.
DISCLAIMER: No offense to army ppl here.
Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that army officers rarely drive their own cars and prefer to use army vehicles even for personal use?
There is no Army Car for Personal use Sir....Only Khyber is given to seniour officer like Brig And above.....Below Brig No one gets Army Car for personal use .....
As I said in my disclaimer, no offense. In any case, I may not be in the army myself but I am very closely associated with the army. And I have seen the way army jeeps/dabbas go out along with drivers to as much as pick up kids from school etc. Now, I am not talking about cars given to army officers. I understand that only brig and above get these cars. I am talking about the cars that are with the MT section of the unit the officer is in. I know it is not a normal practice and not everyone does it. But that doesnt diminish the fact that a LOT of officers indeed do it.
Once again, no offense brother ... its nothing personal
These army guys think no one is as smart as they are..as so we're told anyway! These chaps think they should get into everything, from politics to local advertisements!
A revolution against the jahil of this nation!
I don't like the army either ... but man! That was strong!!!
Personally, I think army fares pretty well when it stays within its circles. Its when it starts to mingle with the general public when things get sour.
But then again, that is not the topic of discussion
Come on friends no need to get emotional, afterall this is our own army and our own brothers, sisters are serving there. We should not blame the whole institution for the wrongdoing of a few people who did wrong things or are still doing wrong things. The reason behind "army-officer-driven/mainteained car" that we often see in newspaper has historical background, though it may not be relevant anymore. In good old times, army officers had better salaries and facilities than their civilian brothers, so they could buy better cars and spend money to maintain them in best possible manner, so people went after them. But now the purchasing power of army officers has been severely weakened, like all other people, so many of them may not be able to have the same upkeep for their cars. Another thing that army officers had clean cars owes very much to batmen, who daily washed, cleaned and frequently polished their officers' cars. So that is the background for our younger members who were born after the so-called "good times".
Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.
Agreed. But that still doesn't make GLI's remarks less enjoyable
No big deal, its just..... yaar jis tarha army walay har cheez ka stya naas kardaitay hain is he tarha un ki gari ka haal hota hai, Allah bachaye sub ko army say
ok ok now people.
jsut cause we're going through rough army raaj doesnt mean we bad mouth them.

Infact what I have seen is that now car dealers frequently exploit the phrase "Owned by Army officer or lady doctor driven".What they do is to purchase a car from the officer / doctor , give an add in news paper giving address of a friend or relative residing in Islamabad and pose as a relative of the officer to get better profit out of the vehicle.
Pakistan Army units are frequently contributing to UN missions abroad where officers and troops are well paid.As such Army officers are now maintaining new cars.Besides CSD hire purchase system offers good opportunities to buy new cars at fairly good markup. Also remember the batman culture is over since March 2005. Now Army officers can hire civilians who are not that dedicated and may scratch your car instead of cleaning it.
