Default Abu Dhabi GP: First Live Coverage(From myside)

Lap 11: Perez and Kobayashi finally make it past both HRT drivers in a tight move to take 19th and 20th positions.

Lap 11: Senna is about four second ahead of the Sauber pair in 18th.

Lap 11: Little change up front for the moment with Hamilton leading Alonso by 2.6 seconds. Button is now 2s clear of Webber in third and fourth.

Lap 11: Ninth placed Paul di Resta tells Force India over the team radio that he is beginning to lose traction as the rear tyres start to fade.

Lap 12: Di Resta is now almost 11 seconds behind team-mate Sutil, with Buemi still in attendance.

Lap 12: Petrov remains in 11th with Alguersuari just over one second behind him in 12th, then a further six seconds back is Kovalainen.

Lap 12: Massa is a lonely fifth in his Ferrari, having fallen 3.6 seconds behind Webber. His pace is almost a second slower than team-mate Alonso.

Lap 12: Kovalainen is doing a great job to hang onto the Toro Rosso ahead, but perhaps even more impressive is the fact he is pulling away from the Williams drivers.

Lap 12: Button reports a problem to his McLaren team and Webber has closed on the third-place man.

Lap 13: Senna has passed Trulli and Glock to take 16th position in the Renault.

Lap 13: Button clocks a poor 1m47s lap as Webber closes to under a second behind the McLaren.

Lap 13: Buemi makes his move at the end of the long straight and he takes Paul di Resta fairly easily for ninth place.

Lap 14: Towards the back, the Sauber pair have swapped positions. Kobayashi is now ahead of team-mate Perez. They run in 19th and 20th.

Lap 14: Webber is in the DRS zone on Button now but just can't make a move on Button at the end of the second zone on this lap.

Lap 14: Di Resta comes back at the Toro Rosso at Turn 10 and briefly retakes ninth, but runs wide and Buemi slices past once again in a great scrap.

Lap 15: So Buemi wins that little battle and is now secure in ninth for the time being. Di Resta drops to 10th, with Petrov 11th and Alguersuari 12th.

Lap 15: Webber remains all over the gearbox of Button and finally sends his move into Turn 11...

Lap 15: The Sauber train passes Glock to move into 18th and 19th positions.

Lap 15: But Button comes back at the Red Bull and re-takes third with some fine driving in the twisting complex at Turn 14.

Lap 15: McLaren report KERS problems for Button, which has put Webber on his case at this stage.

Lap 15: Massa has pitted for a fresh set of soft tyres.

Lap 15: Buemi has clear track in ninth but being holed up behind di Resta cost him a lot of time. He is a whopping 14 seconds behind Sutil.

Lap 16: Alguersuari pits from 12th place in the other Toro Rosso, and that promotes Kovalainen for the moment.

Lap 16: Up front, Hamilton is now just 1.9 seconds ahead of Alonso as Ferrari use Massa as a measure of tyre strategy.

Lap 16: Hamilton and Alonso pit together.

Lap 16: Alguersuari rejoins the race, as Kobayashi passes Trulli to take 17th place.

Lap 16: Rapid stop from McLaren and Hamilton is easily away ahead of Alonso.

Lap 16: Button has also pitted on this lap, with McLaren performing an impressive turn-around to service both drivers.

Lap 17: Di Resta may be struggling with traction, but nevertheless he posts his best lap of the race so far, as Kovalainen pits from 12th.

Lap 17: Webber is a temporary leader but has yet to make a first stop in his Red Bull.

Lap 17: Kovalainen will be looking to come out as close to Alguersuari as possible.

Lap 17: Webber pits his Red Bull this time by.

Lap 17: Hamilton is clocked 2.6 seconds clear of Alonso after the stops.

Lap 17: It's a very poor service for Webber after a fumble at the back of the car and he resumes down behind Massa.

Lap 18: Sutil pitted with the leading group and he rejoined behind team-mate di Resta in ninth place for the moment.

Lap 18: That means Hamilton leads once again, chased by Alonso. Button is some distance behind and now chased by Massa in his Ferrari.

Lap 18: But critically, Force India has gained track position over Michael Schumacher.

Lap 18: Webber has been demoted to fifth by that poor stop and is clocked 5.4 seconds behind Massa on the road.

Lap 19: Petrov has lost four seconds with an off-track excursion, but he was able to rejoin. He is yet to make a stop in 11th.

Lap 19: Rosberg is back in sixth for Mercedes, with Buemi currently seventh but yet to stop.

Lap 19: Petrov comes in this time round. He is followed down the lane a few seconds later by Barrichello.

Lap 19: Buemi is in trouble and touring down the back straight as we reach the official sunset time.

Lap 19: Sutil has been allowed past di Resta to resume in eighth, with the Scot still running long on hard rubber.

Lap 20: Buemi had moved up to seventh place in the pitstop phase, but he looks to have a suspension problem as he crabs his way back to the pits.

Lap 20: In amongst all the action, di Resta backed off the throttle to let team-mate Sutil through, in order to give him more breathing space against Michael Schumacher.

Lap 21: Buemi makes it back to the pits with his faltering Toro Rosso but that will be a long fix to repair the car.

Lap 21: Hamilton has stretched his lead with a strong start to the second stint. He leads by 3.6 seconds from Alonso.

Lap 21: Senna pits for the second time from 12th place, as Buemi climbs out of the car and into retirement.

Lap 22: Di Resta later lost out to Schumacher, as Force India looks to go with just one stop for the Scot. He is now in ninth.

Lap 22: Di Resta later lost out to Schumacher, as Force India looks to go with just one stop for the Scot. He is now in ninth.

Lap 22: Schumacher, now clear of the struggling di Resta, is 2.8 seconds behind Sutil and beginning to close on the Force India.

Lap 22: Further back, Kobayashi passes the one-stopping Maldonado to take over 10th place.

Lap 23: This leaves Maldonado struggling with tyres in 11th. He has Petrov and Perez eating into a 6.6s buffer very quickly.

Lap 23: Button is now 14 seconds behind team-mate Hamilton as he continues to struggle with a KERS problem in the McLaren.

Lap 23: Kovalainen is 14th and Lotus clearly did a great job in the pitstop phase, keeping track position over Barrichello in 15th.

Lap 24: 3.3 seconds is Hamilton's advantage over Alonso as the pair begin to work through lapped traffic.

Lap 24: Glock is 16th with Senna 17th after that second stop, Alguersuari 18th , Trulli 19th, Liuzzi 20th and Ricciardo 21st.

Lap 24: Despite Button's KERS problems, Massa has fallen away from the hobbled McLaren and is now two seconds behind with Webber closing in.

Lap 25: Senna has passed Glock to take over 16th position.

Lap 25: Hamilton is bulked in traffic at the Turn 17 hairpin as he catches the scrap between Alguersuari and Glock.

Lap 25: Alguersuari is next to force his way past Glock and he moves into 17th.

Lap 25: Alonso also struggles to clear that pair, resulting in little change to the lead gap.

Lap 26: At the back, Ricciardo spent a long time stuck behind team-mate Liuzzi, so he pitted. Liuzzi stayed out and the gap between them is just 16 seconds.

Lap 26: Liuzzi pits this time round and Ricciardo will surely gain track position over his team-mate and take 20th.

Lap 27: Maldonado finally comes into the pits from 12th, leaving di Resta (ninth) as the only driver to to stop this evening.

Lap 27: Glock also comes into the pits for his one and only stop of the race, from 18th place.

Lap 27: Barrichello has made his way past Kovalainen and takes over 14th place.

Lap 27: Webber continues to close on Massa, who has also brought down the gap to Button over recent laps.

Lap 27: Maldonado was too hot leaving the pits and almost made it to the wall in the exit tunnel. He saved the situation and continued.

Lap 28: Hamilton clocks the fastest lap but is then beaten by Alonso. The gap remains just over three seconds between the pair.

Lap 28: Ricciardo didn't just gain track position to take 20th, but he is some 10 seconds clear of team-mate Liuzzi now.

Lap 28: Traffic time for the Button, Massa, Webber trio at the moment as they work past Trulli's Lotus.

Lap 28: Di Resta finally comes in for his one stop and rejoins, as Perez similarly comes in.

Lap 29: Kobayashi takes over ninth place with di Resta coming back up to speed further down the field.

Lap 29: Hamilton sets a new best at 1m44.759s, benefiting from a poor lap by Alonso to go 4.1 seconds clear.

Lap 29: Alonso is clear of traffic now, having had a fight to put a lap on Senna and Maldonado.

Lap 30: Maldonado has been given a drive-through penalty for ignoring blue flags while being lapped.

Lap 30: Hamilton presses home his advantage with a new best of 1m44.652s, pulling 4.6 seconds clear of Alonso's Ferrari.

Lap 30: Webber makes his DRS move on Massa, barging his way past the Brazilian before the Ferrari takes the place back into Turn 11.

Lap 30: Behind the top eight, Kobayashi is now ninth with Petrov 10th, Barrichello now charging in 11th and di Resta rejoined from his stop in 12th.

Lap 31: Webber continues his efforts against Massa and may try to make his move in the second zone to avoid the now-popular comeback move.

Lap 31: Kovalainen is 13th, with Maldonado 14th, Perez 15th, Senna 16th, and Alguersuari 17th.

Lap 31: Maldonado comes into the pits to serve his drive-through penalty.

Lap 32: Hamilton is the fastest man on the track again, pulling to a 5.6 second lead over Alonso.

Lap 32: Massa now finds himself behind the penalised Maldonado as traffic continues to hamper the leaders.

Lap 32: Maldonado rejoined the race just behind Alguersuari, but quickly forces his way back past the Toro Rosso to take 16th.

Lap 33: Button has pulled a massive 5.9 seconds clear of that scrap, with reports from the pits that the KERS has returned on his McLaren.

Lap 33: Meantime, Barrichello's charge continues. He passes Petrov to take 10th. Amazing, after the weekend he has had.

Lap 33: Alonso responds to Hamilton's recent speed, but the gap remains over five seconds to the leader.

Lap 34: But things aren't going smoothly for Barrichello's team-mate. Maldonado continues getting in the way of the leading cars and could soon find himself in trouble once again.

Lap 34: Hamilton now has traffic in the form of Senna, with the gap cut down to 4.4 seconds to Alonso.

Lap 34: Maldonado came out of the pits from that drive-through clearly fired up, but not paying attention for the second time in just a few laps is poor.

Lap 34: Kobayashi comes into the pits from ninth, handing the spot to Barrichello for now.

Lap 35: Hamilton is now closing on di Resta to lap the Force India.

Lap 35: Maldonado and Alguersuari are both under investigation for ignoring blue flags.

Lap 35: Di Resta allows Hamilton through down into Turn 5, with Alonso now looking to lap Senna.

Lap 35: Barrichello comes into the pits and takes on soft tyres. He was ninth but will fall back outside the points.

Lap 36: Webber pits and curiously fits another set of soft tyres to his Red Bull.

Lap 36: That puts Webber on course for a three-stop strategy, with a late change to the slower, harder compound.

Lap 36: Alguersuari comes into the pits for his second stop from 17th position, but may find himself in again reasonably soon.

Lap 36: So di Resta is back into ninth place with those in front of him having stopped, but he is a massive 52 seconds behind Michael Schumacher.

Lap 36: Button pits for the harder tyres, setting him up for a run to the flag.

Lap 37: Petrov is 10th with Perez 11th, Kobayashi 12th, Kovalainen 13th and Barrichello is 14th after that recent stop.

Lap 37: Webber sets the fastest final sector but will need to push to the limit to make that aggressive three-stop plan work out. He's now sixth.

Lap 37: The stewards are being kept busy this evening! Senna is also under investigation for ignoring blue flags.

Lap 38: Barrichello has passed Kovalainen to take over 13th place.

Lap 38: Senna comes in and hurries out of the pits, having been handed a drive-through penalty for ignoring blue flags.

Lap 38: Alonso continues to keep the pressure on Hamilton, with Ferrari hoping the McLaren will be forced into an earlier stop for the final time.

Lap 39: Webber sets the fastest lap on fresh softs, but he will have to make a late stop for the harder rubber.

Lap 39: Perez has passed Petrov and the Russian is losing ground quickly.

Lap 39: Kobayashi follows his team-mate through and into 11th place, as Petrov brings his Renault into the pits.

Lap 39: Hamilton's lead is now 3.1 seconds as McLaren and Ferrari ponder their options for the final pitstop.

Lap 39: It's a very quick stop from Renault and Petrov is back out, but is now out of the points.

Lap 40: Webber is now right behind Button on the road as he enjoys a tyre advantage over the McLaren man.

Lap 40: Hamilton pits from the lead as Alonso continues.

Lap 40: Kovalainen is into the pits for his second stop from 13th position.

Lap 40: It's another slick change of rubber from McLaren and Hamilton now needs some fast laps on those fresh, hard tyres.

Default Abu Dhabi GP: First Live Coverage(From myside)

Lap 41: The Finn rejoins after a quick stop directly ahead of Massa.

Lap 41: Massa makes his stop for hard rubber, giving Ferrari another measure of pace ahead of Alonso's stop.

Lap 41: Webber continues a DRS push against Button but still can't make it past despite the soft rubber advantage of the Red Bull.

Lap 41: Di Resta in ninth has almost nine seconds over Perez, but the Mexican is now beginning to chip away at that gap.

Lap 41: Alonso clocks the fastest final sector and is now 19.9 seconds clear of Hamilton on the road.

Lap 42: Kobayashi is 2.4s behind Perez in 11th with Barrichello 12th.

Lap 42: Hamilton has been disputing track position with Barrichello, not helping his cause at all.

Lap 42: Webber finally makes it past Button on DRS, but the Red Bull man will have to make a costly final stop.

Lap 42: There must be something with Williams and traffic today. Barrichello was all over the place there and should have let Hamilton through earlier.

Lap 42: Alonso only finds a tenth on this lap to make the gap 20.0 seconds, with Hamilton setting his best time on the medium compound.

Lap 43: Hamilton is told to push by his team, who reckon it will be very close with Alonso when the Ferrari stops.

Lap 43: Hamilton responds as commanded with his personal best sectors as Alonso pits behind a slow HRT.

Lap 43: Kovalainen is slipping back through the pack after that second stop. He is 16th, but has Alguersuari climbing all over him.

Lap 43: Tyres on for Alonso but Hamilton breezes by on the main straight and back into the lead.

Lap 43: Alguersuari is through on Kovalainen and takes 16th position.

Lap 44: Not Ferrari's finest stop either, but Alonso's pace wasn't quite enough once Hamilton got his harder rubber up to speed.

Lap 44: Trulli pits from 18th place for his second stop.

Lap 44: Di Resta puts in his best lap of the race so far - 1m44.661s and extends the gap over 10th placed Perez to 9.3 seconds.

Lap 45: Rosberg is now up to third but is yet to make his final stop. He has Webber on his tail now, in what is now a battle for finishing position.

Lap 45: Maldonado has pieces of his front wing coming away from the car - hardly surprising given the scrapes he has been involved in this evening.

Lap 45: Webber makes his move in the second DRS zone and is now ahead of Rosberg.

Lap 45: A winglet from the front came off the Williams and was collected by Massa.

Lap 45: Hamilton is clocked 5.3 seconds ahead of Alonso and lapping quicker than the Ferrari on the harder tyres.

Lap 45: 10 laps remain in a largely processional Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Default Abu Dhabi GP: First Live Coverage(From myside)

Lap 46: But Maldonado is going quicker without it! He posts 1m45.379s - his best so far - and remains in a lonely 14th place.

Lap 46: Alguersuari has caught Senna and the battle for 15th is over quickly, as the Spaniard breezes past down the long back-straight.

Lap 46: Kobayashi has been lapping consistently quicker than Sauber team-mate Perez over recent laps. They are tied together in 10th and 11th.

Lap 47: Webber is quickly moving clear of Rosberg but needs some rapid laps to avoid falling behind Massa again when forced to make a final stop.

Lap 47: Kobayashi moves through and Perez does not fight that one. The Japanese can now try and bridge the 10 second gap to di Resta.

Lap 47: But di Resta senses danger and again posts his best lap of the race so far. He extends that gap to 10.5 seconds.

Lap 47: Webber does have a significant pace advantage over Massa at this stage, with the second Ferrari also struggling for speed on hard rubber.

Lap 48: Button is now right with Rosberg, who is still to make his second stop in the Mercedes.

Lap 48: Rosberg finally heads in for a late change to the harder tyres.

Lap 48: Kobayashi in 10th posts 1m43.521s and closes the gap to di Resta to 9.7s. Behind them, Perez is dropping away quickly in 11th.

Lap 49: Rosberg resumes in sixth, just ahead of Massa... who has spun away a lot of time with an off at Turn 1.

    Lap 49: Barrichello is 12th with Petrov 13th, Maldonado 14th, Alguersuari 15th, Senna 16th, Kovalainen 17th, Trulli 18th and Glock 19th.

Lap 49: Webber, who sets the fastest lap again, will profit from that Massa mistake to end up ahead of the Brazilian after his late stop.

Lap 49: Kobayashi is able to catch di Resta at half-a-second per lap, but he does not have enough laps left to mount a significant challenge.

Lap 51: Five laps remain at Yas Marina.

Lap 51: Button is clocked 9.7 seconds behind Webber, which is comfortably enough to stay ahead of the Red Bull when it makes a late stop.

Lap 52: Perez could be where the on-track action is in the closing laps. He continues to lose pace in 11th and Barrichello is now just 5.4s back.

Lap 52: Barrichello cuts a big chunk out of that gap and is now 2.8s behind Perez. This is a developing fight for 11th.

Lap 53: Perez has smacked into one of the bollards and that will not help his cause. Barrichello continues to close him down.

Lap 53: Meantime, Daniel Ricciardo's drive ahead of his team-mate has come to an end. He pulls off to the side of the track and is out.

Lap 53: Webber is still to make his move to hard rubber, with Red Bull likely planning a stop heading into the final lap. He will end up fourth.

Lap 54: Di Resta is trying his best to hold off Kobayashi. The gap between them is 6.6s, while further back, Barrichello is now just 2,2s behind Perez.

Lap 54: Kobayashi pulls in another second and the gap between di Resta (ninth) and Kobayashi (10th) is down to 5.5 seconds.

Lap 55: Hamilton leads by a comfortable 8.4 seconds as he begins the final lap.

Lap 55: Barrichello is just 1.6s behind Perez and may just get an opportunity on the final lap. This is for 11th.

Lap 55: The Red Bull crew spring into action to change Webber's tyres.

Lap 55: Webber resumes for his single lap on the hard rubber but falls behind Button for the final tour.

Lap 55: Perez in 11th now has Barrichello on his tail.

Lap 55: Hamilton heads under the Yas Hotel for the final time and is on course for a fine victory in the UAE.

14:40 Lewis Hamilton wins the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix!
