It is always interesting to see Corolla-Honda controversy cropping up just about everywhere ... is it that we have too few vehicles, or is it a genuine rivalry?

Hardly a rivalry since in the 1300cc+ segment, more corollas are sold and every other model combined.

Toyota has studied the Pakistani market and understood it well. There is a huge desire, and thus demand, for a big, tough, comfortable yet economical car and Toyota delivers that (at least far better than all its competitors).

Certainly, it is not just the Pakistani market ... that holds true for whole world.

Toyota Corolla has been the most popular car in the world.

In 1997, the Corolla became the best selling nameplate in the world, with over 35 million sold as of 2007. Over the past 40 years, one Corolla car has been sold on average every 40 seconds.

Toyota deserves this success. I spent a week in Toyota's Motomachi plant in 1994 for a research assignment. I was surprised at their dedication to quality ... no wonder they don't need Quality Control check department at the end of the Assembly Line

Well when Katrina struck New Orleans, the Americans started looting killing rape balh blah blah blah. But look at the Japanese, they are still forming queues to get supplies just look at them.

But here in Pk, Indus Motors builds Toyota. So hey! My (f)darrrt can blow a hole in the corolla.

    Bhai, you are absolutely right..

Japanese are the most disciplined nation in the world. I have lived in Japan for quite some time, and I feel they can be model for other nations in so many areas of life.

Toyota Indus has compromised on quality, no second thoughts on that .. but even then, we can see lots of Toyota cars on the road ... this is symbolic of Toyota's reputation built over decades

ZIC oil, sometime back offered free burger coupon with purchase of their oil. However, there happen to be no dealerships in my knowledge who awarded it to the Toyota buyer.

Buddy, the only reason Toyota is popular is due to lack of options nothing less and nothing more.
    Nothing to see here.

Government of Pakistan has been using the magic displacement of 1300 CC for official purchase. Toyota has definitely encashed this opportunity.

It is a pity that Cultus, a 1000CC car, has received appreciation which is uncalled for. I really wish we had a better locally manufactured car.
