Default S class with no exhaust pipes showing

Sorry no pics, but I just saw a black S class perhaps one or two years old model, parked outside a showroom in Karachi, it seemed like the pipes had been deleted by photoshop haha, the bumper did not have any ugly add on's like sports pack skirting, nor was it bulky nor had those chrome framed rectangular exhaust holes built it like on the Mark X and several other new cars, it was just normal.

All in all it looked great, is it some new idea from Merc?

I know but is this a new trend available on all or just unique to some models? no pics on the net of it, I can only see exposed exhausts.

BTCF I know the pipe is there on the S class, but I havent seen any with this clean look prior to this model, will look out for more.

I first noticed it in 1996 on the W210 e-class.

Same is the case with old Corolla.

It doesn't mean they don't have an exhaust tip. It's just hidden behind the bumper.

Dear I know exhaust is there I was just wondering if its a new trend of hiding it completely since it gives a nice finish, I dont think corolla qualifies for the look on the merc which is completely flush.

And No I dont want to see pipe, infact I want all cars to adopt this look of no pipe showing, its one more step away from old school styling.

This "no exhaust" thingy can mostly be observed in the CDI versions of Mercedes. And in the baseline models.
