    Thumbs up JDM station wagons are becoming popular in Pakistan

    We see many Applied 4 Reg. Toyota Probox everyday

    Not too many but still many Nissan AD Vans (2006-07)
    JDM station wagons are becoming popular in Pakistan -306168

    And also, Mitsubishi Lancer Van (i've spotted two, one near zero point and other one for sale outside Car dealer's office)

    Looks nice

    All these vehicles are basically used as 'mini truck/van' for delivery purpose with in Japanese cities. However, they can be converted into family car easily. Personally, I prefer wagons over sedans. . .

    The following reasons are behind the popularity of these wagons;

    * Cheap prices
    * Engine Displacement remain under 1500cc limit (Nissan AD is 1.3 petrol engine)
    * More space than a sedan, you can put a lot of luggage even with a CNG tank

    Btw if someone thinks, "Oh thats nice! We can put 3 CNG tanks, a solution for CNG loadshedding, and still get space for luggage" then he may get SHOCKED after getting an expensive bill for rear SHOCKS repairing very soon

    Yup seeing these alot in Karachi too.

    The toyota costs around 9.5 to 10.5
    The Nissan is said to be around 8.5

    Havent seen the this variant, But ive seen some Lancer station wagons with front lights similar to the ones that was brought by Dewan Group.
    Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

    @vickidani
    The rear shock costs arount 5k,
    so 5000 PKR = 55.555 liters of petrol
    & if your car's millage is around 14kmpl, then:
    55.555 liters petrol = 777.77778 Kilometres
    ---------------

    @KamranAslam
    These're some nice (especially the RED HOT Mitsubishi ) wagons. What I mentioned in my post are just average vehicles in reasonable price.

    @chinyoti
    Nissan is cheaper plus this one is somewhat bigger than its Toyota sister

    That is the wagon version of Lancer, what I mention is a competitor of Nissan AD and Toyota Probox, and for sure is cheaper. . .

    They sure are sold $ 1k-2.5k in Japan.

    Cargo + Custom + dealers commision + ???
    But still gives tough time to local ones.

    btw does it (Toyota Probox) have ABS and Airbag?

    probox does have abs and airbags, or at least the ones i checked had. but they only had power windows for the front doors and not for the rear ones. The interior is very much like the first gen vitz except that the dials are not in the center.

    probox is actually a commercial vehicle for jdm market but much better in every aspect than local cars. save for the looks.

    I am seriously considering a corolla fielder, I wish i could find one within my budget otherwise i might have to go for a probox

    Probox,Ad van and lancer are commercial liftbacks.
    where as Lancer one in the picture in prev posts,Toyota Wish and Honda Airwave are stationWagons

    I will prefer both over any PDM.
