    I am optimistic for the future of Pakistan but currently, I would more like the relations between India and Pakistan be like those of European countries.

    Pass into each others country like you're just in a different neighborhood. Sweet.
    Nothing to see here.

    That will never happen. Optimism is fine, so long as it's realistic. It costs $40 million dollars per race as a fee alone, not including a new track that would cost... well go figure- maybe 4 or 5 times that.

    It won't happen in Pakistan. Ever.

    we have talent and skills but we lack professionalism which is the reason we donot have enough exposure to get international investors / sponsers which is the key to any successful business specially in Formula

    but hey we shouldn't be sad, the event in karachi "Xtreme Autocross Championship" is small step towards that ultimate goal.

    It took India to take a long time. Their own team is also in F1. Its about Economy. As Bilal Mentioned it costs 40 Million $ for one race. The point is that how can they generate this amount from one event if Held in PK ?

    I think any thing can be achieved if people are sincere, the problem with us is we first try to make a real big jump to make the world record in the first attempt and then when the interest goes out we ended up having a mess of that stuff.

    The best example of such behaviour can be seen in Hockey Stadium of Pakistan in Lahore, we build the biggest field hockey stadium in the world, if I am not mistaken it has the capacity of near 1,00,000 people, when we build it Pakistan was ruling the world of hockey but nowadays that stadium is empty and Hockey in Pakistan is almost on the last stages as sports too.

    So, investing such a high amount to build a race track which only will be needed once a year is not a suitable option, instead if we really want to try our luck in motorsports first we should build the infrastructure which could bring up talent in motorsports from our own people. Like lower formula racing which could be above Go-Kart racing also I don't know may be there is some motorsports authority of any sort in Pakistan but if there is not then we also needs Motorsports Authority so they could make a guide line for the future of motorsports in Pakistan.

    @rozzzzz
    Who says these tracks are making profits by holding these races, almost all the tracks around the world which holds F1 races have been suffering from losses. Also these $40 Million is the fee to hold a race and have to be paid every year, its irrespective of whether there are fans attending the race or not.

    a simple multipurpose race track can be built in cheap barren land somewhere outside city with a lagat of around a billion or so depending on size...

    starting from there, if people take interest, the area develops, commercial activity rises, then additional facilities may be built...
    simple race events could take place every 2 or 3 days, tournaments etc as well..
    problem is standardizing the cars and making sure the track is safe...
    will require alot of planning...

    But I'll stick to my original statement of an F1 race never happening in Pakistan without going into reasons as to why- it'll take this thread WAYYY off topic.

    Waisay- whatever happened to Pakistan's A1 GP team?

    @Bilaltq
    Pakistan's A1 GP team was not able to start 4th season because of lack off funding, and A1 GP series died a year later because of the same reasons.

    I think instead of having a purpose built race track we can think of a street circuit for holding an F1 race so if the race is not successful we will only lost a small investment rather then a big investment incase of purpose built race track.
