Irteza, thanks for the complements but in reality these 1000 "likes" are not all for this topic. The real "likes" that are for the topic is only 10 as can be seen in Topic Starting post. Other 990 "likes" are for other posts that are been made in this topic by all the members including you and me.
Lets say if I have "like" 50 posts in this topic it does not means that I like the topic 50 times rather it means I have agreed/enjoyed with 50 posts in the topic. I still remember when PW start this feature, I like its first iteration where every posts likes are being counted separately rather then counting as the whole. So when PW changes to this format I have voiced my opinion that it will give the wrong impression.
The reason is simple, what if the topic is controversial and some member post the opposite opinion and got some "likes" those "likes" will be counted in the total "likes" and give the impression that many people agreed with that topic which is not the reality.
Thatswhy, I wanted like counter to present in every member's profile window which shows how many likes he/she has earn in how many posts. The same can be done for the dislike too.
Topic likes can only be counted by how many people have like the OP or by the rating option.
