    @UK
    First if the flap was open for more then one lap why FIA does not penalized Mercedes for allowing a car with significant problem to join the race track.

    Second, I am not saying the Alonso should pit a lap later but rather on the same lap when Vettel dives into the pits. Vettel was overtaken by Hamilton and he dives straight into the pits. If Ferrari have done that with Alonso the difference could be quite visible with Alonso easily on the podium if not the winner.

    At that point of time both the E-Tron(Hybrid) Audi's were leading both conventional Diesel Ultra Audi's. I am more interested in the Car #56, Nissan's Delta Wing concept, with the rumored half weight, half displacement concept using half fuel as per conventional design and longer tyres lasting almost double the conventional design, it would be amazing to see if they could finish the race.

    Nakajima you **&$%****$%%$^^^&&**£$. Destroyed the race for something everyone was looking forward to, the Nissan Delta wing

    Allen McNish just crashed, from the lead, into the barrier trying to pass a Ferrari from a different class which was going too slow for his liking around Porsche curves.. Traffic has played quite a bit of role Going behind safety car right now. Feel gutted for Tom Kristensen. The #2 had just taken the lead of the race from #1 Audi e tron when Andre Lotterer spun while entering the pits.

    Audi e tron seem set to take a 1-2 and Audi looks almost certain to take a 1-2-3 and possibly a 1-2-3-4 if Gene can get a move on.

    Back to green with 2 hours and 17 minutes to go. Heidfeld is running 5th in the top privateer and Paula's bf Chandhok is 6th.

    #51 Ferrari 458 leading the GT class with Fisichella behind the wheel.
    Come back, Luca Badoer, all is forgiven.

    Looks like old Habits die hard for Nakajima . Anthony Davidson was lucky that after such a shunt only 2 broken vertebrae, it could be much worse.

    Audi E-Tron won becoming the first hybrid to win a Le Mans 24 hrs in the history. Just a thought why Mercedes not compete in Le Mans, the original Silver Arrow W196 had competed in Le Mans and I think have won too. Is it because of the Le Mans 1955 tragedy???

    Nakajima, yes old habits die hard-that ***&^^%$$%^&##~£$%

    The #2 Audi was set to win. Commentators were talking about some sort of team orders because this was most probably Rinaldo Capello's last Le Mans and once the #2 came back into the picture, Audi was happy for them to win as it was their e tron and not Ultra. Funny, the head of Audi there was Dr something something and he reminded me of your good friend Dr Helmut Marko

    Mercedes, don't you remember the flying Mercedes from 1999, the Mark Webber fame? I don't know why they have not participated in LMP class but the CLR would not have done their confidence any good. Maybe it's the crash that you mentioned in your post, maybe they don't think it's worth while. Don't really know the reason, not read anything about it.

    One thing to add though. Mercedes as we know it in F1 over the past so many years was actually Ilmor and it used to be re-badged as Mercedes, who had a stake in the company but not a controlling stake. A lot of credit must go to Mario Illien who supervised that project and in the early 90's Sauber had an opportunity to become a customer team but Peter Sauber decided to go with Ford and Mercedes concentrated it's efforts on Mclaren when they signed a long term deal for 1995 that brought Nigel Mansell to Mclaren but that dream lasted up until the Spanish GP i think. Mercedes became sole owners of the company in 2005.

    Btw, were we always in casual forums?
    Come back, Luca Badoer, all is forgiven.

    @UK
    Sorry for a long delay in reply, mostly it was down to Pakwheels upgrading issues which cause the post compiler to disappear from my side when I push the reply topic button.

    Bro, I remember the flying Mercedes of Webber from 1999 especially the fact that he has done twice the same thing in that race was outstanding. Yes CLR was certainly not the way to go for Mercedes in Le Mans but what about their CLS version which was also their alongside CLR.

    One more thing, even if they don't want to compete in Prototype class they could compete in GT class with their SLK's and nowadays SLS Gullwing. The same question I have for BMW too why are they not present in Le Mans GT class with Z4 Roadster. They are competing in FIA GT series so why can't compete in LeMans GT.

    Also, has Honda ever competed in Le Mans with their NSX in 90's if not then in which series NSX gives tough time to Ferrari's and Porsche's.

    No, we were moved to Casual section after Pakwheels move to vBulletin by the mods, well technically they have moved the whole Wheels Fan Club section to Casual Section so our topic moved automatically too. I have protested at that time but didnot change the revert the decision.
