Default Guys, you need to watch this guy's view about imported cars, he is so right

THE MARKET SHOW WITH TARIQUE KHAN JAVED 06 APRIL 2012 ON AUTO INDUSTRY IN PAKISTAN - YouTube

The host seems a bit too much but the guest seems so passionate about his cause.

i don't seem to understand that we have some influential guys on this forum and no one raises their voice for reduction f imported cars duty.

Its a shame that we as a nation are failing in every sector despite we have so much potential

This has to change and it will Inshallah

I believe the duty structure is fine, our economy can not support such a high level of imports. I know this may bring a lot or resentment about local manufacturers ripping us off, but the solution is to set up more competition domestically rather than import cars

    you are right...

A good way to start producing local cars is to force current "local" manufacturers like honda toyota suzuki etc to wind up and shut down plants and get lost...Restrict automotive imports completely, even parts etc. Restrict foreign investment in automotive industry completely. Now see how local industry develops. Thats the right way to do it.

and shut down the country's economy too, lolz

if you restrict foreign investments, then where are you going to get new investments from? No local investor wants to invest in Pakistan right now and by implementing the policies you mentioned, the risks associated with investments will increase further, deterring potential investors.

and how the hell are we going to shutdown HONDA TOYOTA and SUZUKI. DO you have any idea how much they participate to national income?
