Even if the local manufacturers start offering Airbags it will be VERY HARD to change the driving habits of our population. We will have to start using seatbelts, mothers WILL have to seat and tie their infants to a car seat. Infants and toddlers will have to understand that they cannot sit in their parents lap anymore because the airbag if deployed will probably kill them. Everyone will have to get their cars insured because repairing the air bag system would alone cost big money.

Right now we are surrounded with drivers who think they are in US or DXB because they keep driving on the wrong side of the road.

All the imported car owners, please don't make your children sit in the front seat EVER.

Airbag is supplementary, that's why these are called SRS.. there is no safety without seat belts... they both work for our safety hand in hand...

    Comfotable??

only if you have dual stage airbags that employ 2 firing squibs may you consider a light singe and air pressure as comfortable, If you have an old style single squib detonator, that bag will unfold ungodly quick and will be extremely hot, not to mention the sudden air pressure increase.

Driving habits are not by birth to other country drivers, its the "DANDA" of the law that makes them such drivers, I dare you to do a Pakistani driving stunt in umm - lets say London - the British transport police will burn your license infront of you - then you shall walk home

Lets take a simple example, if one is netting USD 3000/month income then paying $300/- as a traffic fine is a very expensive deal. Its 10% of your income. If you dont pay up or dont make any arrangements to pay up then you are arrested - which dents your credibility and may cause loss of employment too.

big trucks are the worst hit - if you are driving an 18 wheeler truck and are missing a rear mudflap - expect a fine of USD 1500/- NO arguing.

Such effects and such danda are the reasons people are "insaan ka bacha" on the roads - install the same system in Pakistan and you'll get your result.

Thats offcourse the ultimate solution but how would we stop our beautiful police force from accepting/asking for bribes.

I object the lack of common courtesy the most. People drive wrong side and stare at you if they have trouble getting by while you are on the right side. I was driving with my wife and this one guy gave me a birdie because i wudnt let him pass easily.

    People have no shame.

You also missed the solution to the dancing padestrians. These people seriously endanger their lives just to avoid the padestrian overhead. Instead they jump on road showing thier palm n later climb over some very questionable spikes (even women)
