Default why Nissan Sunny isn't so poular?

I dont see much Nissan Sunny 2006 on the roads, most of them belong to Karachi Cab, although they are now offering the FF CNG and claim that it cost 0.8ruppes/km.. is there any issue with the performance or people just dont like to think other than corolla and civic?

Xli is three lakhs cheaper than Sunny.

What's the logic of buyin a costly car in CNG?

its so easy to break the monopoly of Honda and Toyota by introducing a better vehicle in competetive prices... but i dont understand that the competitors bring better cars in much higher prices, hence people get encouraged to go for the monopoly gang!

Sunny must have been an ideal option since its Japan made and offers almost everything that Corolla and Civic has to offer... but still...................

i am not sure... is it a rumor or wht....but heard sum where that the car producing companies have a deal within thm selfz that they will not sell any 1300cc car less them 8,40 lacs or so...may b thtz the reason....coz in Pakistan the money or invesment opurtunities are in few hands...may be itz again a deal in betweem them ..and they all share profits with each other...but again these are my assumptions...anyways if the price of sunny is brought down...people will still prefer honda and toyota becoz of the market trends

Territories are marked for each manufacturer based on history, Market size, capacities and influence.
AFter that intrusiion is others territory is penalised by not giving due shares in future.

    Coolest examples

Why Cuore was 850 and not 800? coz 800 cc is a big market for Govt.

Why Nissan was 1.4 and not 1.3? because toyota never wanted to lose out on GOvernment Contracts and they buy majority in 1.3

Why Kia Classic was 1323 and not less then 1300, same reason.

Why spectra 1.5 was launched and not Rio with 1298cc? same reason. STill it gave toughest possible competition to Corolla in an Army deal but lost in the end due to many not very good reasons.

Why Nissan withdrew from 2.0D territory? i am unable to find an answer so far.

if we look at the behaviours closely, we can find some other examples as well.

1.0 is the only cetagory where such bandar baant is not needed because it is the biggest segment and no single manufacturer can fulfill demand, so much so we see the biggest chunk of imports (Vitz) in 1.0 cetagory.
That is why, Santro, Cultus and Chevy are living in peace and are selling cars on merit and choice

Good input by Spectra. I never looked at it from that perspective, but it does make sense.

Nissan is always struggling for identity. It was known as DATSUN, the changed its name. Nissan cars are not as popular as Honda or Toyotas, but they do put somewhat of a sport feel to their cars. The last Nissan I owned was an 86 Sunny 1.0. That car had awesome brakes, but thats pretty much about it.

    Dear Friends,

Please never ever try to compare cars like Mitsubishi Lancer or Nissan Sunny with the locally assembled cars (as one of my brother made a comparison by saying why shouldn't we buy an Xli with a difference of Rs. 300,000) because Japanese cars may take time to develop a lucrative market but one thing is damn sure that they are superb with respect to comfort and quality.

Also, I am using Nissan Sunny since April 2005 and uptill now, it runs like a “0” meter car… I am using it on petrol and you people cannot believe its average… The needle of petrol slightly comes down on a 40 km trip from my home in North Nazimabad to C.B.M which is located in Korangi Creek.

May Allah bless all of us. Take care and drive safely.

    Regards,

    @Spectra & @ Nasir_Zaidi = Correct ( 99.45%)

    Answers:

    1-Price Difference
    2-Low Resale
3-More Reliable and Comfortable than needed
4-Higher Part Prices compared to Local Made (Tow-you-ta, Who-Onda)

    Conclusion:

1-There's no Comparision of Japanese Assembled Cars with Local Made Junk (i.e. Can't Compare Joy with Vitz)
2-If you need Quality than buy Japanese Assembled Cars.
3-If you need 'resale', go for local made
    4- Etc. Etc. Etc.

Note: Point 4, in Conclusion section got high value

perhaps resale factor is what keeps buyers away from this car
if tc=p then hc=m where tc is equal to toyota corolla and p is equal to paindu, and hc is equal to honda civic and m is equal to moron

    hiiii,,,,,
i am also a user of NISSAN SUNNY......n i have used other cars too....
but in comfort,,,,brakes,,,,durability,,no other cars can beat it,,,
i have original diesel nissan sunny...1.7 cc,,,,,
it gives me 19 to 20 kilometer in 1 litre,,,
now i have changed the engine,,,,its a petroll...
    16 valve,,twin cam EFI engine,,,
believe me brothers tht car accelerate like super charged car...n its gives me 14 to 15 kilometer per liter...
n u cant hear the engine voice,,its so quite,,
its doesnt have ABS braking system but its works far better than ABS brake which comes in stopid corolla,,
weneevr i drive my corola i really get scared wenever i apply brakes,,,
now the reason behind market value of nissan is,,,,that we ppl buy car for investment not look for better ride n comfort,,
ppl think the corolla have better resale,,,yar if u want a car why dnt u think tht u should get the car which is more durable n comfort,,,,,hell with the resale,,
i have corolla if anybody wana buy it so contact me,,i wil sel it but if some body wants my nissan,,,i m not selling it,,
dnt look at the market look at urself,,,
yeah as far as gandahra price strategy,,,God knows wat sort of price straetgy they r using,,,
but tel u 1 thing in japan,,,,nissan is also a expensive car,,,
    cz of its quality,,,
n if person want quality he will always ready to pay for quality...
    thanx ALLAH HAFIZ

Reslae rocks just like the CNG rocks. Comfort, safety, performance, reliability all is compromised when you put CNG in a car to save money.

Similarly money is saved by buying a good resale car.

Cant u just let non marketeer people talk
A corolla guy does not have to tell the reason why he bought it but other brands do need some explanations

Pardon I did not realise it was "non-markeeteers" thread. Sorry to be here, but I have also owned a non-markeeteer Datsun 120Y that's why I bumped into here.

BTW my experience is that having a non-markeeteer car is an "azab" in itself when it comes to finding some parts.

That's why my second car was Khyber and now the third one is the much-hated-on-Pakwheels-only rolla.
