    AOA,
    Yar Umer, I have heard from my Corolla, 2006 regular car driver that the car floats / slips / skid (whatever you say) on the road, when brake locks at higher speeds. The sliding force over comes the frictional force which is responsible to stop a car. May be its is camber angle problem of rear wheels. But people recommends to change car tyres to increase the surface area in contact with the road, hence increase the frictional force. To over come this problem, Toyota introduce ABS braking system in ALTIS.

    i have been driving new corolla for past few ,months..and i have also been crying out at this forum that THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES OF COROLLA.......any car without ABS will skid on hard braking....i have applied emerency brakes many times and response of brakes was excelent...i have stock tyres..i dont know why the hell people talk of poor brakes of corolla......if brakes had been poor..i would have admitted straight away.....

    like i admit that corolla has unstable drive at high speeds...but no problem with brakes .............

    Asd123,

    By unstable drive you mean the car body gets shaky when on high speed?

    @umertahir

    absolutely correct...car shakes on high speeds ..gust of winds make it even worse....

    i think toyota people seriously think about instalation of ""wind speed meter""" in thier cars ..so that drivers are aware of wind speed outside and adjust their speeds accordingly......

    AOA, if you are driving corolla with full seating capacity, it simply floats. This is my personal experience in XLI. Just look and observe Corolla from outside the weight distribution with full passenger capacity & might be on CNG cyliner that the front part lifts up and the rear part goes down. With this weight distribution apply brakes and see / feel the results.

    AOA,

    Please try to see the results with full car capacity (Four Passengers sitting in a car) + CNG cylinder at a speed 100 KM/Hr and then share your results with us whether the car floats or not?

    the brakes work fine......

    @umertahir

    no need to be scared....the only thingh wrong with the brakes of corolla are the pak wheelers who hate corolla

    asd123,

    Bhai, my main reason to post this topic was to get personal experience of all pak wheelers who own or ever driven corolla.

    Till now I have gathered that corolla is a nice car except its brake probelm or body weight distribution, as mentioned in one of your post about wind meter.

    kimtiaz,
    About the lift up of Corolla's front part if the back of car is fully loaded, does the car hits on bumps and is the lift thing easily recognisable? Like it happens on Chingchi rickshaws if you put more 'Sawariyan' in the back then the front tyre is lifted up. lol

    mk_car2006,

    The engine type used in XLI/GLI is : 2NZ - FE

    The twin cam DOHC might comes in Toyota Corolla 2.0 D Saloon but NOT in XLI/GLI.

    Till now the transmission of toyota corolla cars remains M/T, not sure which version will be coming with VVTI.

    becuase it is (Xli-Gil) twin cam DOHC, that's why the sticker is there.

    asd, you need to change your cars tyres to make it more stable. my city Idsi gives a very stable feel even at 165KM/H. (Bridgestone potenza GIII 185/14)

    btw, i dont wanna ruin the party but 2nz-fe comes with VVT-i in japan, i am only talking about engine, not about corolla as its 1.8L, and the specs mentioned on toyota indus site are those of VVT-i engine.

    anyhow, 2nz-fe is ~ 80 HP @6000 rpm and it is DOHC, and yes it does hit speed breakers with 2 passengers @ rear. ppl do avoid this thing by putting bigger wheels/tyres but thats cruelty with the whole body setup of rolla.
