Default why Gandhara Nissan is quite?

As you can see quite an activity going on these days. Lots of ads are being placed by car manufacturers in newspapers almost daily.
First Dewan gave RE-SALE offer for Lancer and now prices down. KIA new models launched. Suzuki Liana launched. Honda Civic new model coming. Toyota gave lots of ads in newspapers some days back regarding Altis and 2.0D.

    But Nissan Sunny is quite!

I mean they have the most expensive cars (even expensive than the Chevrolet Optra) and when all the companies are in the competition, they are just sitting idle. No ads, no offers, no price reduction. Apart from CNG which they offered some time back, there has been no news. How are they gonna survive? Is it bad marketing/planning by Gandhara?

probably all the employees are ex-government, and therefore know that they'll get paid even if they do noting but drink tea all day and accept kick-backs/bribes etc...

well first of all nissan is having better sales then optra and lancer therefore they dont need to do anything until their sales are effected like in case of toyota they only bothered then their sales of altis and 2.0D versions went down. Secondly Nissan is now more focusing on tuck and buss segment where they have beaten HINO which ruled pakistani market and are now number one in terms of sales of NISSAN and ISUZU brand trucks. One more thing to add that Gandhara is also not in a good finiical position. Basically they do lack on advertisment part from begining. Even in 2000 when they launched new version of nissan it was not advertise and this was basically bcoz of their finicial position and eventually plant was closed down and after a gap of 4 years again imported version of nissan brands were launched. Any way may be they could do any advertisment in future.

I there is a new shape of sunny coming out soon. May may Ghandara is waiting for that car????...Nissan does not seem too interested in the Pakistani car market.....I am sure if they try to market their cars, their sale will see a substantial increase.

I doubt that there is a substantial difference in the sales of Lancer and Nissan if you do not include radio cabs.
Plus in some cases it is not necessary that you only place ads when your sales are dwindling. Take the example of Liana.
This competition will eat them if they do not act soon. Just look at the price of 1300 cc petrol, Rs. 1,125,000. That's rediculous. I know Nissan produces very good quality cars (I really like it especially the last model 2000 one) and these are Japan assembled so they had to be of extra ordinary quality but even then this price is not justified.

This competition will eat them if they do not act soon. Look at Toyota, even for a strong brand like Corolla they had to give ads and Nissan is not something very favourite here in Pakistan. There is a saying "out of sight, out of mind".

But yes you are right financial position of Gandhara could be the reason.

Nissan is 44% owned by Renault all over the world. Carlos Ghosn CEO of Nissan is appointed by French people to run Nissan and he has literally turned fortunes for them all over the world and NIssan is building that same strong reputition as it always enjoyed alongside Toyota.
In Pakistani market, Nissan has always been quiet in terms of marketing and advertisement and storm's statement about Govt. type people is not wrong because Gandhara Nissan is owned by Ali Quli Khan, who is the son of Habib Khattak, Both with army backgrounds at top levels.
Gandhara almost went bankrupt in 2000-01 but then slowly mustered some courage and money by giving there plant on lease to Dewan for assembling of Shehzore, Land Rover and then chinese FAW for assembling, and then Chevrolet Joy also got produced at Nissan Plant. With that money they started imprting these Cars which we see here now.
Back to Renault, on my last visit to Nissan Showroom, i was asked to fill a very detailed questionaire. Upon asking i was told that Renault is entering Pakistani marlet and they are bringing a mini MPV with 1.4 and 1.5 engines.
The dealer was of an opinion that Gandhara is focusing more on that Renault being dominant group of owners then the current Nissan.
This thinking of his can be wrong but launch of Renault is for real and they are doing a silent market survey these days.

BTW Chevrolet Joy, Land Rover and Shehzore are still assembled at Nissan Plant, which is the major source of revenue for Gandhara.

spectra has given an informative detailed analysis of Ghandhara, but as far as my information is concerned, Shehzore was never assembled in Ghandhara's plant.

Hyundai first entered into an agreement with Sindh Engineering Limited for the assembly of Shehzore when it was initially launched. After the commissioning of Dewan's plant in Sujawal, Shehzore's assembly was transferred there.

Currently, LandRover Defender, Chervrolet Joy, and probably (not sure) Roma (FAW) van are being assembled there under contract assembly arrangements.

Ghandhara plans to start the local assembly of Sunny when the new generation is launched globally. However, in the face of the very welcome price war that is, hopefully, about to start after Lancer's reduction in prices, Nissan do need to reduce Sunny's prices in order to stay in competition.

Renault is also reportedly about to enter into a contract assembly arrangement with Ghandhara for introducing their Logan car. Renault plans to make Logan their highest selling car globally by introducing it in maximum number of markets. It is also going to be manufactured in Iran and India in our neighbourhood. However, in my view, it will take some time for Renault to establish its brand and rapport in the Pakistani market.
    Evolution interrupted.

I am checking about shehzore again. i still think it is produced at Nissan plant because Dewan is facing shortage of capacity even after doscontinuing production of full Kia range

NIssan Sunny - The product is good but is over priced, after sales service is pathetic as parts are not available even at times for two months, so you park your car in garrage and travel on public transport.

The car will not SELL until somebody teaches the Ghandhara Nissan people about PRICING and MARKETING.

Its sales are not comparable with Lancer, there must be a difference of greater than 1:100. Last year Dewan Group celebrated selling over 5000 Lancers and so far Mitsubishi Lancer is the best selling in "NEW IMPORTED CAR" category
