    Default Imported Oils & Prices

    Brothers,

Yesterday I went to Filter house who are the keeper of import oils also (:: Filters House Solve your All Filteration Problems Lahore Pakistan ::)
Filter House has opened its 5th outlet in Lahore right on the Ferozepur road in front of Qaddafi Stadium and right adjacent to Hamid Latif Hospital & Taj Mahel Banquet Hall.

Presently the oil 5/40 (which I am already using in my Passo and repeatedly accepting in my all posts that its very good oil) is gaining the popularity in the Pak. market.
This oil is neither as thinner like ZIC A+ 5/20, nor very thick like 15/40 or 20/50.
This is most perfect oil for Pak. and every company has introduced the same and its getting popular by hot cakes. Almost every company has introduced this oil 5/40 and I am happy that I was the first one who used it and my try was super satisfactory.

    Rates are as follows

Liqui Moly 5/40 Synthetic Rs. 5500/4L
10~12K Mileage for big engines (2000CC or above) but only 7~8K Mileage for 1000~1300CC engines.

    Mobil1 5/40 Synthetic Rs. 4800/4L
10K Mileage for big engines but only 6~7K Mileage for small engines.

    Volvoline 5/40 Synthetic Rs. 4600/4L
10K for big engines but only 6~7K for small engines.

PTT Performa 0/40 Super Synthetic Rs. 3800/4L (Best oil according to my personal ranking)
10~12K for big engines but only 6K for small engines.

ZIC XQ 5/40 Synthetic Rs. 3600/4L
10K for big engines but only 8K for small engines.

KIXX 5/40 Synthetic Rs. 3550/4L (Actually this is not fully synthetic oil)
10K for big engines but only 6~7K for small engines.

KIXX 5/40 Semi Synthetic Tin Pack Rs. 3500/4L (Caltex got Kixx's distribution in Pak.)
8K for big engines but only 5K for small engines.

PTT Performa 5/40 Synthetic Rs. 3200/4L (this one is also semi synthetic, but very very good oil)
8K for big engines but only 5~6K for small engines.

ZIC OW 5/30 Semi Synthetic Rs. 2800/4L
10K for big engines but only 6K for small engines.

    NEWS

Caltex has taken the distribution of Korean oil KIXX. Hence Caltex will import KIXX oil but will pack them by themselves here and will print "Made in Korea". Means again un-certain condition about the Quality.

But presently in order to beat Toyota's Tin pack oils, Caltex has imported KIXX's Tin pack oil with some new given name technology and trying to sell it.

Mobil1 is being distributed by MAL, printing on bottles as "Made in USA & packed in Singapore". But very high doubts. Because its being re-pack here in Pakistan by MAL.

Liqui MOLY, still trying to find out that either its being directly imported from Germany or some local agency has its distribution/re-packing. Am still working on it.

Carbon production seems inevitable, but using same synthetic oil continuously for longer time really helps less carbon. This cannot be generalized to all types of cars/oils & engines. But it has gravity to comply.

You know the car I drive.

when I bought it the previous owner went to shops and had them put API SM 5W30 in it along with cheap paper filter - its ok for 4000 miles, but the problem was found when I opened up the filter. The shop installing the filter did not know that the filter has to be assembled to a given mark on the filter cartridge - it takes a strong and careful push, If one does not pay attention the filtering does not happen and oil simply bypasses it because liquid will take the path of least resistance.

When I assembled the correct filter and used the Mobil1 0w40 oil it literally turned black as diesel oil in less than 500 miles. After 15000 miles of running this oil and filter the oil filter was very very dirty and the oil was literally black. The new oil put in has about 2000 miles on it now and it also has darkened, The quality of it is that the metal parts of the engine are a golden colour.

Hence I said, if I was a customer of this shop, I would get this statement written and signed and enjoy free oil changes for life.

Well you are using 0/40 for the super longer intervals (15K miles as you said). And yes I also can understand that you are using synthetic filters, quality of the fuel is pure with high octane number, roads & atmosphere is better than Pak., etc. etc.

Again, it depends on engine to engine, but repeatedly using same engine oil (especially synthetic one) really brings best performance & in its functionalities.
Presently 0/40 is the most fuel saving oil product of LM. But we don't have it in Pak. and neither its suitable for all the engines.

You have the oil sensor in your car. Right? Which shows that still engine oil is good to go for xyz miles, like that.
We hope same technology will float here in coming years.

    Any price idea ?

    They don't come with 3L pack. Only 1L, 4L & 5L.
With LM distributor here in Lahore, these are available in 4L packing only. 7~8 years back, it was coming only in 5L pack even.

    Prices are
    Synthoil Hi-Tech 5/40 Rs. 4800/4L.
    Molygen 5/50 Rs. 4800/4L.
    MOS2 10/40 Rs. 4000/4L.

The MOS2 was semi synthetic. While Molygen is fully synthetic.
Molygen is latest one and has some extra nice features that superbly help for the fuel reduction and reduce the wear.
They produced this oil in SJ Grade and hence made it suitable for all 2001 and older engines.
Presently am using 5/40, after that i am also intended to use this Molygen in my Passo.
    ASLAAM O ALIEKUM!
I have been reading your suggestions from half an hour, can you assist me about my car's engine oil.
I have Daihatsu Sonica, 660cc, turbo & driven 135000km. Firstly i was using Toyota tin 10w30, the car was doing fine on it, but then I changed it due to my brother's advice. Now I am using 10W40 of Total5000. I am using leppon oil filter along with genuine air filter. I am not satisfied with the performance of Total's oil at all. Before the car was performing really great but now it's not. The lag in performance enhances in summer, especially when I use climate control, but previously I had no issues with Toyota Tin 10W30. Should I switch back to Toyota Tin 10W30 or I should use fully synthetic Toyota Tagron 5W50 suggested to me by my cousin.
