    Default Imported Oils & Prices

    Brothers,

Yesterday I went to Filter house who are the keeper of import oils also (:: Filters House Solve your All Filteration Problems Lahore Pakistan ::)
Filter House has opened its 5th outlet in Lahore right on the Ferozepur road in front of Qaddafi Stadium and right adjacent to Hamid Latif Hospital & Taj Mahel Banquet Hall.

Presently the oil 5/40 (which I am already using in my Passo and repeatedly accepting in my all posts that its very good oil) is gaining the popularity in the Pak. market.
This oil is neither as thinner like ZIC A+ 5/20, nor very thick like 15/40 or 20/50.
This is most perfect oil for Pak. and every company has introduced the same and its getting popular by hot cakes. Almost every company has introduced this oil 5/40 and I am happy that I was the first one who used it and my try was super satisfactory.

    Rates are as follows

Liqui Moly 5/40 Synthetic Rs. 5500/4L
10~12K Mileage for big engines (2000CC or above) but only 7~8K Mileage for 1000~1300CC engines.

    Mobil1 5/40 Synthetic Rs. 4800/4L
10K Mileage for big engines but only 6~7K Mileage for small engines.

    Volvoline 5/40 Synthetic Rs. 4600/4L
10K for big engines but only 6~7K for small engines.

PTT Performa 0/40 Super Synthetic Rs. 3800/4L (Best oil according to my personal ranking)
10~12K for big engines but only 6K for small engines.

ZIC XQ 5/40 Synthetic Rs. 3600/4L
10K for big engines but only 8K for small engines.

KIXX 5/40 Synthetic Rs. 3550/4L (Actually this is not fully synthetic oil)
10K for big engines but only 6~7K for small engines.

KIXX 5/40 Semi Synthetic Tin Pack Rs. 3500/4L (Caltex got Kixx's distribution in Pak.)
8K for big engines but only 5K for small engines.

PTT Performa 5/40 Synthetic Rs. 3200/4L (this one is also semi synthetic, but very very good oil)
8K for big engines but only 5~6K for small engines.

ZIC OW 5/30 Semi Synthetic Rs. 2800/4L
10K for big engines but only 6K for small engines.

    NEWS

Caltex has taken the distribution of Korean oil KIXX. Hence Caltex will import KIXX oil but will pack them by themselves here and will print "Made in Korea". Means again un-certain condition about the Quality.

But presently in order to beat Toyota's Tin pack oils, Caltex has imported KIXX's Tin pack oil with some new given name technology and trying to sell it.

Mobil1 is being distributed by MAL, printing on bottles as "Made in USA & packed in Singapore". But very high doubts. Because its being re-pack here in Pakistan by MAL.

Liqui MOLY, still trying to find out that either its being directly imported from Germany or some local agency has its distribution/re-packing. Am still working on it.

get these fluids from liqui moly or ptt performa and enjoy the ultimate drive.

Never go to change its gear oil and keep using it. It must be fully synthetic with min. life as 80k. Or check it from the manual if possible.

only local oils (shell, caltex, total, toyota, etc.) are available at the pumps.
I suggest never go to feed the local oils to your imported car. These cars give good results on synthetic oils (mostly new engines like yours). Synthetic oils are available with these local companies also, but performance is not good. Fully synthetic oils from imported good companies (especially the German oils) are SUPERB & unmatchable quality and energetic performance.

if can afford, feed your car with liqui moly's 5/50 molygen techonology.
Price in karachi would be ~4000/4L.
And keep the change interval as 8k subject to both filters change after 4k.
Am sure you will enjoy and will be extra ordinary glad with unexpectedely good results.

leepon's filters (malaysian) are the best and availability is huge in the market.
I prefer to use leepon's filters than original of toyota, honda, etc.

these are available at most of the good shops in lahore.
    Yes they have both filters.
Well about the changing interval, it depends which oil you are using. If its mineral, partially synthetic or even semi synthetic oil, then better to change them with every oil change.
For fully synthetic oils, they can last well till 6k. However for longer intervals, better to have it changed after 4k for better performance.

Filters magically wont become long life with synthetic oil - if you are going for extended drain and using the original paper cartridge filter then change midway as it will get seriously plugged with contaminants. After getting plugged it wont filter but just work in bypass mode.

You can only extend filter change interval if you are using synthetic fibre fleece media filters which are not available for your cars easily.

Before installing the oil filter, fill it up with oil and let it rest for about 5 minutes, then drain all the oil out and install immediately, this wets the filter media and prevents hydraulic blowout, if installed dry the filter has an 80% chance of a hydraulic blowout on first startup, If you notice on proper branded filters like MANN, Donaldson, Hengst, Knecht, Union, WIX etc the diagrams shows a picture to pour some oil in the filter, then install on engine and tighten.

You cannot see the blowout on the metal can filter unless you cut one open, But you can see a blowout on a cartridge filter easily.

Ok Zulfiqar, here I put one example.
In Pak. still the majority is consuming 20/50 (in old, medium & even new engines) and keep the change interval as 3~4K max.

Now, more than 100 times I've seen that when somebody comes to change oil after driving 3K, the oil is "almost freaking dead". Just put 2 drops on finger tip and rub is gently. The lubrication is near to zero and oil feels like "Grece".

Now when somebody come after using 3.5~4K PTT Performa oil, then at-least its in "Oil state" who still have lubrication.
That is the reason make me hate to these local oil companies (shell, Caltex, total, pso, Toyota, Suzuki, Honda, etc.) Their 20/50 is not a new oil. Just something refined and re-packed again in bottles. That’s all.
Hence for local oils who are coming like Greece, how we can expect that oil filter will work well?

Synthetic oils are quite thinner and keeps engine happy & healthy. Hence oil filters can keep its good functionality till 5~6K even.

The job of an oil filter is to filter out carbon deposits and gunk which is removed by the oil. This is why they turn " kaala".
One more thing, you cannot really test lubrication by rubbing it with your fingers. There is special equipment for that.
Please elaborate on the "grease" part.

this is what exactly I've replied separately to another post just now.
Despite we discuss for hours about oils, but its not easy to convince people on the technical grounds.

Most of the pso oils are refined and not NEW. (big difference is there in refined oils and new oils, plz search to know). That’s why they're offering free filter with every oil change.
    Zic offering KFC Burger.
Other local companies offering "Pen" or "Tissue box" or "air filter", etc.
But the real results come out when you drain the oil after driving and it comes like Greece.

Finger tips rubbing method is desi but quite effective.
For proper checking of lubrication, viscosities and other technical specifications with specific characteristics, have to go to PCSIR or in oil testing lab which will cost Rs. 15~18,000 for complete CBC of oil. lol

But here I suggest, if someone wish to test the used oil after draining and see how much it can be used more WHY NOT TAKE THE BOTTLE PACK OIL TO INTO LAB FOR TESTING AND LETS SEE EITHER DOES IT REALLY MEET THE SPECIFICATIONS AS MENTIONED OVER THE BOX?

The over derived oils usually lost their all characteristics, filter stop working and oil get more contaminated & more thicker. Hence at the time of drain it seems like Grease (the dense thicker fluid). It was example infact.

Can't send you PM, perhaps some problem at server.
Here is the logic based on which the suggestion was made for 5/50.

    You have VITZ 2002 66K
Well you can use the oil 5/40 for sure.
But as the engine is 11 years old and maybe cannot give extra mileage results instantly.
And most importantly, you must be using 20/50 havoline or similar viscose oil before. That’s why going directly to 5/40 may not bring so convenience. Also its API-SN Grade.
That’s why the my recommendation goes to 5/50. Go for this oil, and if feel everything good, then better keep using it with change interval as 6~8K depending upon oil condition but change the oil filter after 4K for better results.
