    Default Imported Oils & Prices

    Brothers,

Yesterday I went to Filter house who are the keeper of import oils also (:: Filters House Solve your All Filteration Problems Lahore Pakistan ::)
Filter House has opened its 5th outlet in Lahore right on the Ferozepur road in front of Qaddafi Stadium and right adjacent to Hamid Latif Hospital & Taj Mahel Banquet Hall.

Presently the oil 5/40 (which I am already using in my Passo and repeatedly accepting in my all posts that its very good oil) is gaining the popularity in the Pak. market.
This oil is neither as thinner like ZIC A+ 5/20, nor very thick like 15/40 or 20/50.
This is most perfect oil for Pak. and every company has introduced the same and its getting popular by hot cakes. Almost every company has introduced this oil 5/40 and I am happy that I was the first one who used it and my try was super satisfactory.

    Rates are as follows

Liqui Moly 5/40 Synthetic Rs. 5500/4L
10~12K Mileage for big engines (2000CC or above) but only 7~8K Mileage for 1000~1300CC engines.

    Mobil1 5/40 Synthetic Rs. 4800/4L
10K Mileage for big engines but only 6~7K Mileage for small engines.

    Volvoline 5/40 Synthetic Rs. 4600/4L
10K for big engines but only 6~7K for small engines.

PTT Performa 0/40 Super Synthetic Rs. 3800/4L (Best oil according to my personal ranking)
10~12K for big engines but only 6K for small engines.

ZIC XQ 5/40 Synthetic Rs. 3600/4L
10K for big engines but only 8K for small engines.

KIXX 5/40 Synthetic Rs. 3550/4L (Actually this is not fully synthetic oil)
10K for big engines but only 6~7K for small engines.

KIXX 5/40 Semi Synthetic Tin Pack Rs. 3500/4L (Caltex got Kixx's distribution in Pak.)
8K for big engines but only 5K for small engines.

PTT Performa 5/40 Synthetic Rs. 3200/4L (this one is also semi synthetic, but very very good oil)
8K for big engines but only 5~6K for small engines.

ZIC OW 5/30 Semi Synthetic Rs. 2800/4L
10K for big engines but only 6K for small engines.

    NEWS

Caltex has taken the distribution of Korean oil KIXX. Hence Caltex will import KIXX oil but will pack them by themselves here and will print "Made in Korea". Means again un-certain condition about the Quality.

But presently in order to beat Toyota's Tin pack oils, Caltex has imported KIXX's Tin pack oil with some new given name technology and trying to sell it.

Mobil1 is being distributed by MAL, printing on bottles as "Made in USA & packed in Singapore". But very high doubts. Because its being re-pack here in Pakistan by MAL.

Liqui MOLY, still trying to find out that either its being directly imported from Germany or some local agency has its distribution/re-packing. Am still working on it.

what Shell says about imported oils

MYTH 3: ?IMPORTED OILS ARE BETTER.?

Imported oils are not necessarily better. The API or equivalent rating is an objective basis for comparing different oils.
Another basis for judging the quality of oils is the reputation of its manufacturing company. Strict quality conditions are required to produce and test good oil. Shell has developed a lubricant-blending quality control programme that guarantees that Shell Helix will be of the same high quality, wherever your customers purchase it.

    FAQ?€™s and Oil Myths
I've gone through this whole topic. Frankly it looks less about oils and more about shell's advertisement. lol. In every paragraph, they've mentioned about shell do this and it does that....etc.

Well, I have gone through many topics about oils and different people have different views about the oil choices with respect to their cars, driving conditions, weather, atmosphere, etc. etc. or we can say there are "hundreds of myths" about oils are available. BUT.... the most important is that how wisely we choose the oil for our own car. That’s all !!

Here I can write down more than 10 logical based benefits to consume imported oils. But if 100 people will gone through that topic, then hardly 1 guy (or maybe none) will agree with that. Because we all have different schools of thoughts. But all the 10 logical explanations that I'll write, all it will come from my own experiences & practicals. But how many people here agree to change the viscosity of their engine oil or even brand name, unless they confirm from minimum 10 other people. And if 11th guy says some different views, then again the asker will go in big doubt. lol

Hence choosing oil wisely for our car is not a big deal. Just we have to go little deep to understand the requirements according to our own driving style & conditions, situation, roads, atmosphere, car, engine health, etc..
And more importantly, we have to be mentally ready "to accept" that there are many other oils of better performance are available in market than that oil which we are consuming.

if you entirety of thinking is stuck in "imported items" are better no matter they are proven inferior, then either you have no idea what you are discussing or just trying to follow emotion rather than logic.

    need your little guidance here.
Am planning to bring some oils and have them tested from the laboratory.
But which lab you recommend in lahore to go? PCSIR?
and more importantly, what kind of tests has to be perform? Like we go hospital and ask for CBC (complete blood count) or LFT, etc. Hence what kind of tests has to be get done on oils? And either on the new oils or on used ones?

would you like to share that why you are willing to change? To get better mileage? Or engine is very noisy? Or price? Or longer intervals?
How much the car has been driven? And what is the changing interval of this zic5000 10/40?

    My suggestion goes to

    no. 1
    LM molygen 5/50

    no. 2
    10/40 viscosity.
    Available options could be
    mos2
    ptt 10/40
    kixx g1 (10/40)

keep max. change interval as its 6k for molygen and mos2
and 4k for ptt or g1

    I think no problem.
Salam bro i want to know that do i need any liqui moly cleaner before putting liqui moly oil or i can directly put new oil?
well i have better option to avoid using the lm cleaner.
When the oil change is due, drive well for engine oil to get enough warm up. Drain oil completely when engine is quite hot/warm. In this way, more than 96% oil comes out.

Use molygen and drive 4k for first time.
But next time, atleast 5k. So no need to spend money on buying engine flush etc.

Sir, is it the instrument to check the quality of the oils that we were discussing? Or you'd like to send something else like profi car brouchers, their oil range, characteristics, etc.?

sir, that would be really interesting.
Am sure such thing can only be available at very limited n rare places. Anyway, may i know its price and procedure to test oil? Am sure i'll be interested to buy and keep it for my interest and will help to enhance my studies on oils too.
