My brother bought 1998 model Corolla GLI for 630K, I am sure that the person sold it must have bought it for the same price even after using it for 8 years and I am sure even if my brother sells it after a few years, he will be able to sell it for the same price.
I bought Indus Corolla in 1993 for 600K, sold it last year, using 12 years, for 550K, even is very poor condition. I was going to leave it to my denter/painter for full body works, engine and suspension works, but stopped at a friend's showroom. I did not let me get the reconditioning works done, and did purchase the car within few minutes. This Corolla had lost one number plate, engine was almost completely exhausted, body had rusting in many places specially in fenders. It was snatched on gun point in 1995 but was recovered within few minutes due to remote control security sysytem but was not cleared from the court and CPLC ... had all these problems, even then the person was so happy to buy it as if he was getting the greatest bargain of his life.
We bought the first Corolla in 1986 for 200K, brandnew Japanese, sold the same in 2001, using 15 years, for same price but totally exhausted in terms of body, engine and suspension.
Now, this is something uncommon among all the other cars in Pakistan. According to resale, economical spares and reliability Corolla is the best ... beyond any doubt. Go to the market and ask the price of a few years old Corolla and Civic and you will get to know the difference in resale of both and if you do that please let us know the conclusion, regards.
