    The points will be doubled for every position from 1st to 10th.
    1st: 50 points
    2nd: 36 points
    3rd: 30 points
    4th: 24 points
    5th: 20 points
    6th: 16 points
    7th: 12 points
    8th: 8 points
    9th: 4 points
    10th: 2 points

    Title permutations for Rosberg's chance;

    - If Rosberg wins the race, he will win the title as long as Hamilton doesn't finish 2nd.
    - Rosberg can finish 2nd and win the title if Hamilton finishes 6th or lower.
    - Rosberg can finish 5th and win the title if Hamilton is outside the points.

    hahahaha

    I thought I was the only one who didn't enjoy this season. But I guess others also didnt enjoy it as much.
    On PW, the number of pages per season thread is like this:
    2010 - 183 pages
    2011 - 163 pages
    2012 - 121 pages
    2013 - 39 pages

    And 2014 is even worse than 2013.

    At times, 2014 was more enjoyable than 2013 ever was. In the previous threads, everyone would discuss their views about the race. This year I don't see many active F1 members on this forum.

    RedBull caught red handed with an illegal flexing front wing which means Ric and Vettel will start from the back of the grid. Usual stuff from RedBull then...

    Double Points is already explained while the situation for championship deciding factor was already posted under the headline what Rosberg has to do, in my previous post.

    @ALL
    The reason why there is less pages in this topic is because of Mercedes dominating not only the engine side of F1 but also the car side of F1 too and people say RedBull and Vettel makes F1 boring.

    On a serious note, the only reason this season discussion does not get more then 16 pages until now is no one wants to share their opinion for what ever reason. Just imagine the 3 big on field incidents and what was the response for them in this topic. Those 3 incidents are Nico Rosberg's Monaco qualifying antics, Rosberg/Hamilton crash in Belgian GP and Jules Bianchi's crash in Japanese GP. Neither of these incidents results in multi argument discussion let alone multi page discussion which could be a certainity in 2012 or before that. 2013 was different many members abandoned discussing F1 altogether either from the start or mid way into the season like @UncleKracker, @m_waqas, @Blackeye117, @comtrak, @nightsurfer and those that were discussing it at that time start losing motivation by the start of 2014 season including myself, @rozzzzz, @aref, @MoinIqbal, @SLR and @zia1288.

    I just hope that in 2015 season we could discuss more frequently on the ongoing action of the time.

    Well this is fact that due to less participation from us fanboys, there is a lot let discussion in this thread. But hats off to @genius83 from keeping us updated and posted about the season.

    Although, among the 1000's of PW members I'm sure there aren't only a mere 10 or so F1 fans. There must be more!

    The season wasn't boring. It was quite spectacular at times. Quite controversial too. Like, Hamilton's car issues were good food for the conspiracy theorists. We'll never know what happened. Rosberg's apparent 'mistake' at Monaco was deliberate. And how he didn't get penalized for reversing on to track while other cars were on their flying laps is beyond me. At Hockenheim, the safety car wasn't called out when Sutil's car was lying dead on the racing line. The clash at Belgium made me lose respect for Rosberg. I won't say it was a deliberate move. No one in their right mind would do that. I don't know what he was thinking. But the way he turned in, it was totally his fault. He could have easily taken the runoff like Vettel did a lap earlier and attacked later on in the race. I was quite amazed to see the support Hamilton got from the Tifosi at Monza this year. I remember them booing at him when he won there in 2012. This time, they treated him like one of their own. It was quite good to see. Suzuka was another good race until Bianchi crashed. Good to know he's breathing on his own now. His crash was quite horrible. Raikkonen's crash at Silverstone was a 47 G. Bianchi's crash was a whooping 92 G. I think its a call out to those who said that F1 is not dangerous anymore. It may not be as dangerous as the old era of F1 when drivers used to die on almost every Sunday. But it definitely is no child's play. Speaking of children, I hate how Max Verstappen is showing up in F1 next year. I thought the Sergey Sirotkin rumour last year was awful. This is way over the top. FIA super license is for driver's 18 and above. He doesn't even have a driving license for the road yet. Will his mom drive him to the races? They would definitely wanna reconsider this crazy situation.
    Overall, I think the season has been good. Way better than 2013 because Mercedes didn't do a Red-Bull. They let both drivers have a go at each other. Hamilton has been superb this year. Many people criticized him saying that he'll run out of fuel, wreck his tyres, etc. But he did an amazing job. He has adjusted his driving style according to the car when it was needed. Its something Vettel failed to do this year. Rosberg has been tremendous in the qualifying all over the season. 11 pole positions. But he has only converted 3 of them into wins so far. Hamilton has outshone him in the races. 10-5 is a very strong statement. I'm hoping that Hamilton wins the championship today. He's been the better driver and deserves it more.
    Anyways, @genius83 has done a fantastic job as ever. I've been following these F1 threads since 2008. I could never really participate because I haven't been regular at PW.
    Next year, we'll have more discussions. A lot of them on McLaren-Honda over the winter and Alonso's destination. The possible revival of Ferrari with Vettel? Or will it get worse? We'll find out.

    Congratulation Hamilton for becoming the 2014 World Champion.

    @SLR
    Hockenheim incident was not the first one, Valencia 2012 sees Vettel's stranded car pulled by the marshalls under yellows and no Safety car. Raikkonen's crash in British GP was his own mistake of going wide and without slowing enough coming back on to the track the crash was a consequence of his own mistake. If you take Raikkonen's crash I will give you a better example of worse crash Perez/Massa crash Canadian GP, Perez's mistake resulting in not only destroying 2 cars but nearly taking out another in the form of Vettel's RedBull which nearly missed by Massa's Williams that could be an even nastier crash then Massa crashing into Raikkonen at Silverstone.

    Vettel did his best to adapt to the car but there were too many factors that have hampered his efforts including retirements, wrong strategy decisions and also if you remember a rumour that started in 2013 around Italian GP that Vettel has signed an agreement with Ferrari to drive for them although the rumour was mentioning the possible switch for 2014 season which didnot happens but it certainly has some truth in it as now he is going to join them for 2015 season so discussion were certainly ongoing for that too. I would describe Vettel's 2014 season as an equivalent of Hamilton's 2011 season apart from those crashes that Hamilton have that season.

    @genius83
    I can't seem to remember where Vettel parked his car when he retired from the 2012 Valencia GP. But at Valencia, there are spots for marshalls to bring cars through. I think he may have parked next to one of those. I could be wrong.
    The crash at Silverstone was totally Raikkonen's fault. I was just comparing the impact with that of Bianchi's crash which was 92 G as read by the sensors. Raikkonen's crash impact was 47 G.
    Perez/Massa crash was terrible. If either one of them had a brain, the crash could have been prevented. They narrowly missed Vettel.

    Yeah, Vettel's 2014 season was very similar to that of Hamilton's 2011 season. Lewis was awful in 2011. A maturing season, I guess. But I give Vettel credit for improving as a driver. He's been great wheel-to-wheel this year. Some good battles. Good luck to him with Ferrari!
