    Default Car for Chacha

    Assalam O Alaikum,

    The Situation:
My chacha is nearly 70. He drives an 84 starlet that has a very rough ride and no A/C. He is now looking for a super-reliable car with a comfortable ride and chilled A/C in around 550k range.

    The Problem:
His mechanic says to get a carburetted car because he says that they are more reliable and he can't work on EFI cars.

    The Choices:
My chacha thinks an 04-05 Baleno might be the best car for his needs. He also likes Santro but its EFI. He is confused. I recommended him 2002 city and 98-99-2000 Indus XE.

    Opinions Required:
Are EFI cars hard to maintain? are they unreliable? What would be the best option for my chacha? Remember, he is looking for a reliable, comfortable and AC wali sawari. shukriya

Dear carby is a very very old technology and atlest go for a efi car if you can manage your budget ... Santro is a good efi option otherwise go for margalla or liana

efi car are much more reliable than carby the person telling you uncle (Chacha) that efi are unreliable is either a idiot or he doesn't know how to work on efi car samtro is a stupid car if you want a Indus corolla don't opt for XE I would say buy a baleno instead of santro or Indus corolla if you can get a gl a 2002 city will is best option but a little hard to maintain

It's a good economical ride, reliability, soft ride and powerful ac depends on how you pamper your ride.

I own a Baleno 2002 JXL, it is a trouble free car on petrol with good performance.

In karachi and in his budget, nothing beats a 2000 model 2.0d limited. An indus corolla with a diesel engine, comfortable, cheap, economical and a pleasure to drive.

This never occured to me. Sounds like a really good option as I've kept an 86 Galant with 2.0D engine. It was a very good engine indeed. However, I'm not sure my chacha would be up for driving a diesel.

FYI, Neither clean indus corolla xe nor city 2002 fall under 550k category.
Left options are baleno 04~05, liana 04~05, vitz 2000.(All are an alien spaceship for an average mechanic).

CD20 while comparing with 2C is like Horse with Donkey. No hate for toyota, but CD20 is by far better then 2C. I would recommend Nissan Sunny diesel 2.0D
