Default why corolla diesel value is decreased now a days?

    Salam to all....
can anyone give some good reasons that why diesel models of corolla's are not in demand now a days as were before and now u can get these models on factory prices very easily in comparison to past when people used to pay a huge amount at name of "owns" to get these models?

Whats the cost ratio for diesel in comparison to cng?

whats are future perspectives for diesel models?

Valuable comments of this forum will be highly appriciated................
Regards n best wishes for all of u.

Well diesel lost its popularity bcoz Government raised the diesel prices plus the popularity of CNG Vehicles..

I remember a mechanic who use to convert like 2 to 3 cars everyday from Patrol to diesel and at that time i had a corolla 86 (Patrol) and i wanted a engine redone he told me that will cast 18000 Rs but u can buy a good quality 2nd hand patrol engine in 4000 Rs so i did that.. now hes converting diesel cars back to petrol :p u cant find a patrol engine now of any car below 15000 Rs...

    to sum it up.
    - CNG Sucks
    - Petrol is expensive
    - Diesel Rulzzz

Since majority of pakis prefer CNG over doesel bcz of its cost. Hence diesle hastaken a hit. However, World Bank & other foreign lenders are after thr govt. ti start taxing CNG, reson being CNG is required for industrail use and in vehicles it is a waste.

so once taxed CNG will move out of the equation and DIESLE shall once again rule the planet

Well in my opinion the Diesel requires tooo much of Maintance... & i remember one of a car showroom owner once told me that petrol engine never gets a problem as compared to Diesel. So i Guess this would be the reason.

oh yes corolla 2.0D is losing its demand....i remember 5 or 6 years ago every one was buying 2.0D...

Its all due to CNG,now a days XLI is selling like hot cakes but not da 2.0D.....i have a 2.0D model 2000,i bought it a year ago for rs 775000 but now its value is around 6 to 650K.
Thus i think that we run da cars whether on petrol,CNG or DIESEL.....bas chaltay chalo..

Nowadays fuel economy cost of Diesel and Cng vehicles difference is very very minor.
Advantages of original diesel vehicle's are
More torque power..no startin problem on either winter/summer..nothin difference in intial pick or on running with A/C on..Fuel freely available all over wherever one wishes..Vehicle's boot is saved from weight and mass...and finally maintaince is very normal than any other gasoline engines...rather one is saved from plugs.timings etc.etc.as in gasoline engines.
In U.K. the fuel cost of Diesel & Octane/Petrol prices are exactly the same but the Diesel Vehicles are expensive and is also many one's favorite because Diesel Vehicle's are very economical and powerfull.
Here in Pakistan Indus is offering 2C diesel engines vehicles though they are the old tech. engines but so far for in Pakistan these engines practically proven very effective and durable, with very easily and cheap maintaince and availability of parts from every part of Urban to Rural areas.

and finally my view that in Pakistan even if we drive vehicles with water then one day we will buyin water at the price of Gold......Cheerz

    Just to add about Maintenance

Diesels do not require too much of Maintenance, they require Preventive Maintenance without any lapses in Maintenance schedule. Thats the only thing to keep an eye on.

And i love diesels for the torque and a feeling to get anywhere

    @HeartsnMinds

Congrats on ur new ride man!!

Do share the experience and specially the mileage of the car.

If the car gives u around 12km/litre....
    then one tank full=600km
and 1700/600=2.83rs/km approx and that is a decent averge.. almost equal to what a 1.6 SE Saloon gives on cng.

No one mentioned the engine sound of diesel which is horrible and the black smoke of older cars.

I will prefer diesel over CNG just because of the long lines on CNG stations and that you have to fill it almost every day wasting 20 min or so plus the tention that gas is running out............ My 2000 Civic VTi 1600cc goes only about 60 km with AC on 55 lit Cylinder. My Corolla Gli 1300cc goes 100 km on 60 lit cylinder (partial AC).

Another good thing (I think) is that diesel engine is heavier so the car has a better ride.

One question is that why they dont offer Autimatic transmission on diesel?

I bought a Diesel Corolla new in Dec 1999. At that time the tank used to fill for Rs 450/-. I used to get around 17 km/l in Karachi and when I went to Rawalpindi I got around 22 km/l on M2. While going up the Salt Range incline on M2 I faced no problem and the car went A-1 except for thick black smoke(it had done around 15000 km by that time). I was a fan of it but sold it later. I think Toyota is wrong in not introducing the 1.4D Corolla which it has in Europe. It would be cheaper and more economical than the 2.0D Corolla.

i get an average of 15-16 km per ltr. Own a 2D Saloon 2005. done 11000km on it. did two oil changes one oil filter change. thats all. bought it one year back, no smoke, excellent pick, did over 140km per hr on motorway at approx 3500 rpm (perhaps a bitmore....).

i also own a charade 84 genuine diesel oguht it in 85 first owner. that car gives me 18km per litre. maintainence on that is oil and filters thats it. but a few things like wiper motor, foundations, ,shocks (front), timing belt, glow plugs etc. have been changed / repaired once.

    diesel rocks.

p.s. diesels last longer than petrol engines. tried & tested.

2d is worth every penny spent on it. I think it is losing market because people cannot afford it. I got rid of my CNG civic VTI 2005 because of the long queues at CNG stations plus the poor average and damage to suspension. No doubt it is very cheap but I ended up spending 22000 Rs for rear suspension. Not to forget that my tyres were also worn out quickly. If u want to use CNG buy a Cuore for local duty and if u want a vehicle for long drives then 2.0D rules.
Life is like a sinusoidal curve! If u know what I mean.
