    Default Jerks while shifting gears

Can someone please explain why would an automatic transmission on a 10 city would jerk while shifting gears? A proper jhatka is felt when the car is going through the gears.

Has the transmission fluid ever been changed?

Bought the car 3 weeks ago so I'm not 100 percent sure but I got it checked from an oil shop they said it's been recently changed judging by the consistency and the color.

Can old transmission fluid cause this problem?

Yeah. Especially if it wasn't changed in time. It's supposed to be changed every 70k km. It can lead to greater issues within the transmission box that may require more expensive work if not timely changed. Get the transmission checked from a reliable guy. If he can't find anything maybe just a flush of the entire system is required?
