    Default Toyota Hiace WHY SO POWERFUL ???

    Has anyone seen Toyota Hiace's power on Pakistani roads with a lot of passangers in it and even after 24/7 working. Faster than even Land Cruisers & Pajeros. Amazing !!!

    Its true. But I have experiences twice. I used to be in Pajero 95, 3 door with my friend at a signal in Islamabad with a Toyota Hiace full of passangers. Hiace ran like a bullet. Same I have observed in case of Land Cruisers.

    Never ever in your life make a mistake of racing with a diesel powered car, Diesel engines should not be under estimated, i once got in a race at islamabad highway with a KIA Sportage, i had a 2004 model Honda Civic VTi Orial, and seriously it was way hard keeping up with the KIA, and once the road was clean he just shooted off.

    majority nd the vans have 2L engine and yes they are fast for sure. also the drivers know there vans too well. driving a diesel and getting power out of it is not for every driver. @mz i better stay quiet about the sportage otherwise the thread will be off track

    Did some say Hiace are fast, I just wonder what they drive? Hmmm! Does not matter what engine it has 2L, 3L, 1KD or 22R, they are not fast.

    Those vans mostly do induce a graet pick and send the people flying back and banging into their seats(or sometimes into other people) but suerly they are not fast(Racerf1 i am on your side).And what kind of scenarion this is???A civic vti losing to a sportage.May be the car was sick and not feeling well before leaving,or got its front wheels paralysed,or may be it was running on empty stomach and owner has not fed it well.Just joking.Well what could i say??

    Hiace has ample amount of torque which will give the "sensation" of going fast. But its not fast believe me, I have seen many racing on the highway everyday.

    As for the Sportage V/S Civic, your joking right??!! A Sportage can't even beat a Corrolla 2.0d, and your thinking of it beating a Civic, LOL.

    Sir belive u me tuat tue man wuo uas posted tuis topic is correct.
    I uave driven Toyota Hiace myself.
    Never under estimate a turbo diesel specially by Toyota.
    if u ever had a chance to go to Murree or Muzaffarabad on Toyota Hiace u will experience every civic failing infront of Hiace. even or rightly on elevation. The speciality of Hiace is that it attains its full bhp when it is full of load. as it is rearwheel so the ragiusace has the leafspring suspensions at rear therefore this happens. i tell u while going to murreee dont even try to race with a local Corolla 76 diesel or 82 corolla. they will make u embariss even u r on civic or corolla altis. and if u get a chance to sit in Toyota Hiace special car 3.0D efi diesel turbo. Then u can notice its immence power.

    As far as driving is concerned I own 2 Hiace Vans and there are few on this forum that can swear that I have driven those vans to the extremes. They are not fast, they feel fast and have low end torque designed to pull loads.

    @dharjava
    you are comparing different thing here. for claiming and pulling loads diesels are very well known but that does not make them fast just good work horses, that is what I use them for, work.

    @Racerf1.
    Absolutely agreed with Racerf1.Compairing the contest towards elevation(Murree & Muzaffarabad) is totally different.Diesel do contains power and is good hill climber.What about the 180 degree straight road????Good load dragging horses as fairly described by F1.

    Those who think it is fast here is a link of a video of our PWs Road trip on a Hiace. This is the best it could do with 6 ppl on board.

    i think someday ppl'll also rate hyundai shehzore as fast quick vehicle. fast and rash driving is totally different. we think these vehicles are fast coz they are not driven nicely. so ppl perceive them as "hatto bacho things".

    btw, my personal experience kia sportage (not referring to corolla's 2c) cant withstand 1000cc petrol car in drag, any doubt bring it on and try urself

    I m not saying that Hiace is fast after 100kmph, but it really gives very very tough time to cars under 100kmph. U can try this.
    Someone was praising Honda Civic I think, Yar Honda Civic just can't pass by my old 98 Corolla 2.0D. Just give throtle to a simple Corolla 2.0D from 2nd gear instead of 1st and then see how a Civic or Nissan can catch this furious diesel powered car.
