    Default - FORMULA 1 Season 2007 - (RAIKONNEN WINS)

There is considerable time left in the start of the season but there are a lot of news coming through. So, just like last time we had a single thread about F1 2006 season I am starting this thread for the 2007 Season. This will allow all of us to discuss things at one place.

My request to all the F1 fans, please post F1 2007 related stuff here.

@redbull....all of the info was with one guy..the whole team doesnt deserve to be punished and secondly how can u even say that mclaren used ferrari info, i think ur not in touch with reality or maybe u dont follow f1 properly cos to fia hearing there was no proof found that mclaren used ne of the ferrari data in there 2007 car ...and im sorrie to say but ur lameee cos almost 90 % percent of the ppl involved with f1 thinks that the penalty is too harsh!

i dont think that mclaren paid ultra high cash to their spy in ferrari so that the info gained can be kept in one mans bed room, and if i remember that masn was a bigshot engineer in the design team, these formula oen cars are so much similar(due to fia rules) that first position on the grid or last depends on ultra tiny stuff and its very very difficult to figure if its copied or not,and this wa said in the official FIA report... and for the fact the 90% think that the punishment was harsh (althoughi havent heard of it) is because f1 is still ruled by brits nad we know that brits are biased towards their stuff, let it be crappy mg, reliant robin or their team in f1. and the drivers were only allowed to keep their points because they provided f1 with all the proof they needed, alhtough i think its still unfair with rest of the 20 drivers on the grid and especially the ones in red having the stallion. and all of us know the flex wing scandal... i am not a ferrari fan(infact i am a toyota fan) but still rules are rules and if you remember last season monaco, what hapened to MSC...

    Guys Chill !!!

Dun be like Ron and Todt...
    Blame Game..

Well m posting after quite a time... as was buzy... and didnt properly following F1. saw that Spa Franchochamps but it was a bit boring... from grid to chequered flag same results.. Although Ferrari had a nice race..

Watched Fuji GP (the GP in Clouds) and It was really nice..

And we Saw a Typical Mclaren Champ in that Mp4-22 car..
MAn !!!! he was just make the car flow in those sprays...

ALL in All the title hunt is more sort of over, and it wud be exceptionally over ambitious if we still hope for a miracle.. for Kimi or even Alonso.
That guy can simply consistent ( Brit )

in the end the FIA's decision was sort of confused. rather unsatisfied. If they really caught mclaren having the hand in the cookie jar, than they shud have also had the drivers taste the punishment atleast.. like a 10 point penalty or 20 ... and wud have reduced the money compensation, and constructors point...

It was just like we are punishing you and punishing big so the world can hear.. so thats it... F1 is all abt driver standings,.... Who cares abt constructorss championship that much...

... Welll i do have some pics of SPa...
    shud i post..

well to the team its the constructor which maters and the prize money the team gets is also dependent on the constructor ratings..

Well the front runners got more bucks only by TV rights..

HOnda this season has scored only Two points yet and They still can have that much money from tv rights which can fulfill their Travel Expense.. So think of Mclarens..

Well no doubt Team standings matters alot coz of money but who remebers the constructor champion in the world, not that much like Drivers.

well yeah you are true in some sence, but hey the points loss of mclaren have costed them around 60ish million pounds rest 30ish they have to pay... and 60ish million is accorsin to some roughly 15% of their budget.....

and yeah you absolutely right about the remembering thingi...but i have figured it out that the number you get on your car for the next season considered to be one proud thing in this game and dont forget the first place in the pit lane too

The race was not boring but irritating. Results extracted from wet races can never be justified. I am still unable to understand why Ferrari stopped four times. I watched the race in bits and pieces, may be there was something that I missed.

Anyways, Hamilton has more luck than talent. First, Alonso crashed out and then the only resistance that was there in the form of Webber was eliminated by his own team mate. For the first time in life Alonso finally has tasted bad luck. This kind of bad luck has been with Kimi through out his career.

The season is obviously sealed for Ferrari with the constructor's and Hamilton with the driver's title. I hope the next races have their say on the outcome of the driver's title, but it is highly unlikely.

    @Ghuncha ya right aswell.

@sub7er Well i was out of khi for 2weeks and was buzy in family..

    @NS
Man ferrari did a blunder wid the tyre choice, and they are blaming that for the Stewards.. So thats why they had those kinda 4stops...

ALL in ALL for me it was not that irritating.. Wet races are like this always... ANd in japan it happens most of the times.. But lot of safety car laps...

At one stage the commentator of ESPN(SLATER i guess) said are we expecting to watch all 58 laps of the race in safety car first time in history..

    So **** happens...

BTW wht a race for the tailrunners as well.. was shocked to see the Redbulls all 4 and the honda.

    But the best was Heikki.

and the last lap between masa and kubica.. Simple dogfight.. both got equal chances.

Todt slams FIA for Fuji email episode.

Ferrari team boss, Jean Todt has hit out at the FIA and the stewards at the Japanese Grand Prix after an email message informing teams that drivers' had to start on the extreme wet tyres went 'astray'.

Although the FIA has now changed this procedure, Todt is still fuming about what happened at Fuji and the fact it meant both Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa both had to make an early supplementary pit stop in Sunday's grand prix.

"I have to admit that there is still some bitterness as far as the outcome of the Fuji race is concerned," the Ferrari CEO told Ferrariworld.com. "We had the potential to win and to catch up further in the Drivers' championship. But now Felipe has dropped out mathematically and Kimi needs a miracle to become world champion.

"I'm very disappointed about the way of communication of the important instructions from the stewards right before the race. They should have done better.

"Apart from the fact that the procedure has not been formally observed, there is also the regret that certain actions have not been implemented by the ones, who for example had to underline the fact that we had to use rain tyres, while on the monitors the message about the fact that we had to start behind the safety car was transmitted.

"But also the FIA personal could have verified on the grid, that all the teams had received the communication. It's true that the press release by the Federation on Sunday evening acknowledged the procedural mistake, but by then the damage was already done."

Despite that though, Todt did concede that the main reason they aren't in a position to take the drivers' title this season is all to do with the reliability of the F2007 - or rather its lack of reliability.

"If we don't bring back to Maranello - together with the constructors' title - also the drivers' title, it is, because we didn't have enough reliability," he confirmed.

"It's enough to have a look at the championship: we lost some very important points - and I'm thinking about the problems Felipe had in Australia, Great Britain and Italy and the ones Kimi had at Barcelona and at the Nürburgring. With these points we would be really close to the actual leader in the championship.

"We have two very good drivers, who have demonstrated that they can work together and know that the concerns of the team come first when it is necessary. This will always remain a positive season, although there were some moments, when we really suffered and which did no good to Formula 1.

"In the first year with a new organisation of the team, when many expected us to be in decline, we gained 170 points, seven wins and eight pole positions so far and last but not least we could win the constructors' title for the 15th time in our history, the 7th in the last nine years.

"When I pause for a moment and look at the last 15 years, I feel satisfied about what Ferrari has done over all these years: 12 world champion titles, 96 wins, 84 pole position, 83 fastest laps in a race, more than 2,000 points: these are the figures, which should make proud everybody at Ferrari, our partners, our shareholders and the millions of fans of the Prancing Horse all over the world," he summed-up.

New car for Alonso after Fuji crash.

Fernando Alonso will use a different McLaren chassis in China this weekend following his high speed crash during the Japanese Grand Prix last Sunday.

Not only were the reigning world champion's hopes of securing a third drivers' title severely dented at Fuji Speedway, but his Woking-based team confirmed on Tuesday that the MP4-22 he crashed exiting turn five was too damaged to repair in Asia ahead of the penultimate race of 2007.

McLaren said a replacement chassis was despatched from England to Shanghai on the day of the crash.

“A replacement chassis (MP4-22 01) was despatched from the McLaren Technology Centre on Sunday 30th September for China. This chassis will become the spare, with Fernando using the spare chassis from Japan as his race car (MP4-22 03). Fernando’s damaged car was sent back due to significant damage to the chassis, which is not reparable at the track.” the team confirmed in a statement.

Alonso's damaged car was sent back to Woking because the 'significant' damage was 'not reparable at the track', McLaren added.

"My retirement in Japan has not made it easy for me in the championship, but there are still 20 points to be won and I am going to fight hard for each one of them," Alonso commented.

He trails team-mate Lewis Hamilton by 12 points.
