An 84-year-old Dutch man admitted to police he had been driving for the past 67 years without a driver's license, media in the Netherlands reported yesterday.
The Amsterdam man was stopped this week by police for the first time in his life during a random check. He escaped detection for two thirds of a century because he was never involved in a car accident or stopped for speeding.
The man was released without charges after promising to stop driving and get rid of his car, which had never been put through the required safety test.
