    @ateekt
    it is a great brand but just look at wat they are offering. More or less they are offering just sunny. U cant count a 3 year old nissan petrol in their offerings. So ppl do get a lil afraid i should say or they hesistate while buying a sunny. Coz no matter they are a gr8 brand but they arent as good as honda city or corolla in pakistan.
    Although back in dubai nissan petrol was the most fav. car of the ppl. And it was the best 4x4 too.

    Did you read carefully, what I wrote ...? They have no idea of what they'll get, rather than

    its a good brand. they offer more cars but not in Pakistan becuz for Pakistan u need "special" cars that can take some beatings. Nissan has Sentra, Altima and Maxima too, but won't suite in Pakistan. My dad had a Sunny from the 80's model and it was better than most cars i see on PW (performance wise) cuz it was a gov car and had to go for service every month. it had a great turbo charger and other performance upgrades that made the car go over its limits.

    While the Datsuns of the 70s and early 80s were quality but cheap imitations of equivalent Toyotas, since the 90s some of the Nissan Sunny models have had their own character. Like the 1990-95 model of Sunny as well as 2000-2004 and the current model that is top class in its price range.

    I think car manufacturers need to add a "resale" option besides abs and leather seats in order to rack in paksitani customers

    Seriously though everyone in our family was against me buying the lancer 1.6 auto cause of it's expensive parts and no resale. None of them speaks up now as the lancer has the best ride of all the cars in our family, the cheapest maintainence, the best built and good looks too !

    Similarly about the nissan, it was either hte lancer of the nissan but lancer won cause at least they have some foothold/backing in pakistan, nissan support sucks in faisalabad at least if not anywhere else cause they keep on changing their show room, and u never feel safe buying stuff from em.

    That's why I said "niche brand" that is exclusive to 0.5 percent of car buyers now. But not in the 80s. In 1987 and 88, Nissan sold at least 12000 Sunnies for each of these years, a record for sedan sales in Pakista that was eventually broken only in 2000 when Toyota sold more Corollas than that number.
