it sounds great to provide equality to the drivers but in reality the team will have to pay the penalty in the end just like McLaren and nearly Ferrari as well. I think the team must set a time on which they decide which Driver to go for, may be mid season or 10 races, i agree with u.

It is easy to give equal oppurtunites to both drivers so long as your car is the best on the grid and the championship is more or less yours for the taking as was the case in 2001, 2002, 2004.
If its something resembling this year where you had two competative teams then you bet on the proven winner, one who has been there before , and done it.

In a close Championship like this year Mclaren should have gone with Alonso very early in the season. The reason why Mclaren did not are well documented. As for Ferrari, Kimi Raikkonen is the number one driver there and he will remain so. Massa has no hope in hell of ever beating Raikkonen to a drivers world title as long as they are in the same team unless Raikkonen retires from half the races or misses them for one reason or another. No disrespect to Massa or his fans but Raikkonen along with Alonso are in a different league.
Come back, Luca Badoer, all is forgiven.

well no I wasn't comparing schumi with barrichello... not at all... but every time I try and make a point about barichello as a good second driver someone always brings up that one race and they always say "if that hadn't happened you never know how that season would have ended..." I was just trying to not give anyone an opportunity to bring that up... no comparison between schumi and barichello at all of course...

but here is a thought... compare massa and barichello as support drivers for the alpha drivers in the team... barichello with schumi and massa to kimi... I think they're both superb support drivers... barichello always drove in tandem to schumi's plans and massa seems to have done good work in supporting raikkonen... wonder if that will continue into 2k8

I don't think Massa's gonna accept this thing straight away. He is a great fighter and i expect a great comeback from him. Kimi has to do some more to earn this status

Bahrain to host Motor Sport Business Forum

Following the success of the Motor Sport Business Forum in Monaco, the event is expanding with a new conference and exhibition in the Middle East. Set to coincide with round three of the FIA Formula One World Championship, the Kingdom of Bahrain will play host to a regional version of the two day conference on 1-2 April 2008 in the days leading up to the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix. This will be the first year of an exclusive five year agreement.

Vijay Mallya to the Motor Sport Business Forum

Vijay Mallya, the billionaire owner of the Force India F1 team and the major influence behind India’s bid to host a Formula One Grand Prix, will give a presentation during the opening session of the 2007 Motor Sport Business Forum.

    Heidfeld confident regarding 2008 season

Having finished fifth in the 2007 Drivers' Championship, Nick Heidfeld secured the best result in his Formula One career to date. Despite being of the opinion that making another significant step forward in 2008 will be difficult, the German remains positive about being able to achieve the goals set for the coming season.

I would have thought being the reigning world champion would have earned kimi raikkonen that spot... although a little more consistency would be nice...

by the by for anyone who cares I think Hamilton will be on top gear this weekend... he will be driving the suzuki liana around the track trying to beat mansell's time

I dont think it makes a difference whether Massa accepts the number 2 status within Ferrari. He was and will be just that by virtue of Raikkonen`s results.
If Raikkonen had not won the title this year, both would have gone into 2008 on equal footing. Having won the title when least expected would only add to Kimi`s confidence ( something he doesnt really lack anyway). The only way Kimi will ever play second fiddle to Massa is if he has 2-3 bad races in the first half of the season and Massa happens to win those and build a big enough gap.

    Hamilton targets Schumacher’s record

Aiming to take the next step and win the title

Hamilton already a proven race winner
Lewis Hamilton wants to bounce back from his rookie championship defeat in 2007 to become the most successful driver in the sport's history.

The 22-year-old finished runner-up to Kimi Raikkonen this year but earned widespread acclaim for a meteoric debut season at the pinnacle of motorsport.

Exclusive interview - Honda’s Ross Brawn

It has been one of the biggest stories of the off-season - former Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn’s signing as Honda team principal. After being based at his new home in Brackley for exactly one week, how does the man who helped power Michael Schumacher to record-breaking success view his new challenge? And what has he been doing in those months away from the track? We caught up with Brawn to find out…

Honda will be a real interesting case study... we'll all get to see as to how much difference the arrival of a guy like Brawn is gonna make to the team... he can't change anything mechanical in 2k8 so we'll get to see how he changes other aspects to make the team competitive and even win worthy...

I am sure Brawn will be able to bring some changes in the 2008 results as well, provided how much control he gets. Honda needs to put its decision making in right hands.

Anyone got an opinion on the possibility of the silverstone track being dropped from F1 calendar? I don't think it would make much of a difference... i mean except for the british fans of course... I was just reading Buttons comments on the issue and thought i would see how much of a difference you guys think it would make...
