    Thank you for your little gem :-) I`m sure even the Mclaren fans would agree with you on this one.

    @beglar_begi & rozzzzz

    It is a sad state of affairs. The flip side is, it will probably encourage more teams to come to F1. Manufacturers eventually leave F1 after they achieve their objective, winning. The only team that sticks around is Ferrari.
    I`ve seen a picture of how the 2009 car looks like, don`t quite remember where, but it looks ugly to put it mildly. A lot like the A1GP car:s

    Mclaren is one of the many teams in F1 that is reliant on an engine supplier. Four years back who would have thought Williams would be in the state that they are today. It`s all part of a cycle, and whilst today Mclaren is one of the best funded teams there are no guarantees in F1. I am not denying Mclaren their rightful place as one of the most successful teams in F1, but the point i am trying to make is that in time we might end up with Mclaren being bought by Mercedes.
    Before the car giants arrived in F1, Ferrari was the only team who made their own chassis and engine. Ferrari need F1 as much as F1 needs Ferrari.
    Just to make one thing clear. I am not a Ferrari fan. I am not a fan of any team. I could never get my head around how someone can actually be a fan of a team rather than a driver. The love affair of Italians with Ferrari is understandable. If we had something which such pedigree we would love it too. What i don`t understand is how one becomes a fan of Mclaren or Williams or Jordan or Benetton as it once was etc etc.

    ah well...as long as ur not a ferrari fan and u dont deny the silvers their rightful place as one of the most successful teams in F1 im good ...

    as for supporting a team...i dunno man...kimmi is an excellent driver and grudgingly i agree massa is one determined driver who tries really hard to win...if either was in any other team than ferrari...even str..i wud support them...but i dunno..its something abt ferrari that i hate...probably the fact that boy racers with no knowledge wot so ever think every sports car is a ferrari and start supporting ferrari as soon as they hear of motorsports..no offense to any one here...

    The new A1 GP car is based on Ferrari's F1 F2004 model and if you guys have no objection then I will post the whole specs of new A1 GP Ferrari. As for having a standard engine I don't like the idea because we have a series of standard engine racing already running parallel to F1 with a different moto.
    @rebel
    none of us here are supporting any team in particular but come on we have the right to point out what is being wrong on the part of drivers. Just for a instance what Hamilton did at Montreal was wrong in every aspect of driving because you even don't see such kind of incident in the GP2 level where rookies are being introduced to know what it is like to be in a formula 1 class car.

    No one will deny Mclaren it`s rightful place. Sadly, Ron Dennis has a habit of getting attached to one of his two drivers in the team for whatever reason and it`s something he has done for a long time.
    I am not a Ferrari fan like i said, but my dislike of Mclaren is not any less than what a Ferrari fan would have for them. Sorry, but it`s not always about the FIA and the blame game. I would suspect that people working at Mclaren and those driving for the team are human, despite the best efforts of Ron and his team trying to turn them into robots, and being human they are likely to make mistakes like others. Ron Dennis is a sour loser. He always has been nothing new there, but it would be nice once in awhile to raise your hand and say, right we made a mistake. At Mclare it`s anyone and everyone`s fault expect theirs.
    I won`t deny the perceived FIA Ferrari bias and in the past there have been instances where its been quite blatant. This season i have seen very little evidence of that especially if you compare it to what the FIA has done in the past.
    The Spa penalty and the one given at Fuji was correct. If one argues against it then i would suggest they look at what was done to Schumacher at Silverstone in `94, to Montoya at Sepang in 02 and to Alonso in `06 to name a few. If that is the yard stick, then Hamilton should have received a one or two race ban for what he did in Canada or at least a race ban suspended for the rest of the season. By the same token he should have received a drive through penalty for his antics at Monza.
    It`s this cocky behaviour that rubs people the wrong way.

    @genius83

    I read some where that the AIGP car would have Ferrari engines or something like that. Since i don`t follow it much i don`t have any info about it.
    Sure, post the details if you`ve got em.

    @mustaffa

    LOL!! So what`s your story ey, Started watching F1 in 05/06? Saw a driver that was winning and took a liking to him. Things didn`t go according to plan in `07 and in `08 did they?
    They are called " fair weather fans" Much like fair weather friends. They disappear when the team/driver they support doesn`t do well, and re-appear and babble incoherently when the going is good. I feel we will be seeing a lot of you once Alonso gets back to winning ways.
    Come back, Luca Badoer, all is forgiven.

    I got into ferrari simply because of schumi... what that guy did with that team, the way he turned it around in a couple of years was pretty amazing... besides that you have to admit no one does it quite like ferrari on the F1 track... their screw ups are spectacular (the red light green light pit stop system) and their achievements are just as commendable (their driver wins the championship five years in a row)... good stuff...

    If Massa wins in Brazil, Hamilton must finish at least fifth to be champion

    If Massa is second, Hamilton must finish at least seventh

    If Massa is third or lower, Hamilton is champion regardless of his result in Brazil

    So how is the pressure on hamilton here?! I don't get it... all chokemaster has to do is show up and remember to keep the nose of the car pointing in the right direction... the onus is on massa here... granted everyone is looking for hamilton to screw up but what're the chances... frankly I'm looking out for fireworks from the engine bay but even that is a low probability...

    Having reliability problems deny him the title would be sad. Love him or hate him, he has had a good season, driven well, taken the opportunity when it came along, made mistakes too of course, but on balance he has been the better of the four drivers.
    Sadly he deserves the driver`s title. I would love Massa to win , but it`s asking for too much. Unless Hamilton cracks like an egg, he`s got it made.

    Each car is equipped with a unique PowerBoost system, a mechanism to provide short bursts of increased power to create additional overtaking opportunities and action throughout the race. By changing the engine’s parameters, the system can give the driver additional power over a limited time during each race to take the A1GP Powered by Ferrari car to 600 bhp.

    The PowerBoost is driver-activated by a button mounted on the steering wheel. The driver will be able to use this for a predetermined period during the Sprint and Feature races.

    Michelin will be A1GP’s exclusive partner for the next three seasons. The tyres’ technological development results from close co-operation between A1GP and Michelin engineers.

    The designs stem from Formula One technologies that seek to offer both optimal performance and safety to the driver. Full rubber serration tests were performed on various tracks such as Fiorano, Imola, Jerez and Mugello resulting in the best compromise between grip, endurance and wear.

    Michelin shall remain present in the paddock while guaranteeing high-quality service throughout the championship. The use of this high-technology product by various teams shall be supervised under the watchful and expert eye of a skilled Michelin technician.

    Sorry guys for a long post but it is necessary as it is covering every spec of the car.

    @genius83
    Thanks for sharing that info.I have not followed A1 GP except for its first season.
    So they have one tire supplier like F1, something similar in the boost button to what F1 will have in KERS next year.
    Does that Adam Khan fellow still drive?
    Come back, Luca Badoer, all is forgiven.

    Ferrari in quit threat over standard engine

    Ferrari have issued a bombshell warning that they will reconsider their participation in Formula One if the FIA presses ahead with the introduction of a standard engine.

    On a day when the FIA confirmed it was still pushing on with its plans to introduce standard engines in F1, Ferrari became the second team to publicly threaten to withdraw from the sport if the concept goes ahead.

    In a statement issued following a board meeting at Ferrari's Maranello headquarters, the team made it clear that they did not believe the move to standard powerplants was right for F1.
