Default car with best power steering

hi guys i dont what do many people see in a car when they buy them heres what i see is its power steering. i have a rolla xli (06) and i regreat the day i bought that car. first i installed 17 inch rims in the car i couldnt even turn the wheel. so after 4 hours i changed them and got 14 inch alloy rims with yokohoma tyres. then it was light just a little. my friend has a city vario(07) he installed 17 inches rims .and guys guess what it didnt even effect his steering at all.it was the same as before with org 13 inchs . so from my point of veiw city has the best power steering. atleast indus could do is put an eps in xli for the money they charging for it and plus the own . i paid rs 100000 for my white xli . so what do you guys think

The softest turning power steering wheels ever I have experienced was in 1991 Chevrolet Caprice Classic - It was called double hydralic power steering.

It was so soft that you can steer it with 1 finger and it will complete a round even after u remove ur finger, hence this feather light steering was dangerous for highspeeds.

On other hand, Honda Accords, 1983-84-85 up to 2000 had this unique technology of power steering, that was lightest on 0 or halt and became harder as the speed increases. The best technology power steerings i have ever experienced.

VW Beetles has good steerings too, i dont know if they came with power steerings or not.

Honda City just have an excellent light steering, but this does not means its a good thing. Corolla is also OK.

Best ever is Honda Accord from 1983-2000, i would rather say in 1989 it was best. I have not driven Accords later than 2000 model.

    Cheers

over all handling settings, best car ive driven in Pk is the one i have currently,, steering stiffness remains stable at any speed and my contact with steering system is F.Angle Italien steering wheel giving direct feel of how much road grip car is retaining on road.

Another good steering was of rx7 FD in pk but i found steering wheel too large for the driver space in that car.
some of the current imports have great steering capabilities.

To the guy who said that the new Civic doesn't have an EPS. It actually does. 17" or even 18" rims don't make the steering heavy and to top it off, its very precise.

Logically speaking, the way the Civic's steering is, the lightness etc, can only be accomplished by an EPS. There's virtually no engine load. Any engine powered steering runs heavy on 15"+ rims (atleast on civics as my experience tells me). The 07 Civic takes 17/18s and stays silky smooth.

That power steering fluid reservoir and hoses must be there to cool down the invisible turbos then

Then what else does electric power assisted mean? Thats pretty much what an EPS is.

Poor XLi's steering is not bad either. You can turn this monster 360 degree just with your index fingre
Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.

    fso:

Well said. It only turns 'semi-smoothly' on the standard wheels that come with it. Don't even think of putting rims in... the car gets sluggish.

correct me if i am wrong but in older cars the power steering remained soft even during crusing speed and that led to many accidents coz of steering sensitivity.

Nowaways we have cars with power steering that remains soft when car is stationery and hardens as we cruise.

is this true or just a load of bull
