    Don't forget the i Drive system developed by them, first featured in the BMW E65/E66 7-Series. Personally, it used to mess up in my 5'er, but apparently everyone loves it because the whole world's dying for their patent rights to expire so they can start producing their own instead of running bmw's technology with a royalty fee, as in the case of the new S class.

    @graybmws:
    2004 Adaptive Headlight Control BMW 7 Series [Porsche 911 (996) had Adaptive headlights, called Litronics]

    what is "1998 Anti-theft glass in series BMW 7 Series "

    @hardtalk:
    I thought Mercedes uses a similar technology like the BMW's idrive but it is based on COMAND system. However the the external hardware (joystick) to operate the system may resemble the rivals. I might be wrong here so fill in with details.

    You're totally right, although both Audi's MMI and Mercedes-Benz's COMAND are rival technologies, they are using certain design components (perhaps parts or layout, etc.) which they pay BMW a royalty fees for - I read that somewhere, Car and Driver maybe? I'm not sure.. Might be wrong.

    I have sort of stopped posting information on this board, but here is a quicky:

    @N4SIR
    Actually the first ever Adaptive Headlight control introduced was in 1948 Tucker sedan that had a headlight directly connect to the steering wheel. Your info could be true. I will check my source again.

    Grays, don't stop posting. Just chill and reply where you feel you can add something useful and have a good conversation.. Like you did right now simple as that bro! There are thousands of people who come to this site looking for what we talk about.

    About the headlights, I think what the post is talking about is ones that are technologically driven, instead off the ol' pull string physics.. But your reply is a hundred percent right haha

    p.s: did you ever get around posting pictures of your rides?

    @HardTalk

    Hey friend, yea sure I will add whatever I can. Usually my aim on internet forums is to add/distribute information and to learn. But overhere there is a lot of badmouthing going on.

    For my rides.. I am waiting for some of the mods to complete. I shall soon post them in coming weeks. I am a detailer and spend hours waxing/polishing my rides.
