Ross Brawn would do whatever it takes to get in the front row, you never know he was the part of the Legendary Dream Team ! so he might able to score podium this season.

    The pre-season excitement is great...

Stupid rule! deciding the WDC by the number of wins. We might see a world champion crowned by round 12 or 13 some times. I`d hazard a guess this rule will not long last long if we have one season with a dominant car and driver.

Jean Todt wants to contest elections against Bernie Ecclestone. He`ll be in place to bend everything Ferrari`s way for when Alonso arrives at the prancing horse

    Schumacher 'astonished' by new rules

Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher says he sees little sense in the new scoring system introduced by the FIA earlier this week.

The governing body announced that the world championship will go to the driver who scores the most wins, instead of the one with the most points scored.

The move has generally not been well received, and Schumacher has joined two-time champion Fernando Alonso in condemning the changes.

Alonso hits out at FIA over rule changes

Two-time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso has criticised the FIA's decision to change the rules right ahead of the start of the season.

The governing body announced on Tuesday that, from the season that starts in less than two weeks, the world championship title would go to the driver with the most wins instead of the driver with the most points.

The decision means that a driver with more points than their rivals could still lose the title if he wins less races than the rest.

Webber fears no reward for consistency

Mark Webber fears consistency will not be rewarded this season as a result of the change to the scoring system.

The FIA, Formula 1's governing body, announced that the driver with the most victories would be champion this season, meaning someone with more points could still lose out.

Last year, BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica was in contention for the title until the final races of the year, despite winning just one grand prix all season.

Webber believes consistent drivers like Kubica are likely to lose out with the new system.

    Montezemolo slams 'absurd' rule changes

Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has voiced further criticism about the raft of radical rule changes that the FIA announced earlier this week.

As well as unveiling plans for a voluntary budget cap from the start of 2010, the FIA has shaken up Formula 1's points system - declaring that the world championship will be handed to the driver with the most wins.

    http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/73791

    Hamilton saddened by FIA's decisions

World champion Lewis Hamilton has called on the FIA to start working with the teams to help improve Formula 1, after becoming the latest driver to criticise rule changes announced this week.

In the wake of the announcement about budget caps and the decision to award the world championship to the driver with the most wins rather than the most points, Hamilton has expressed his disappointment about what has happened.

FOTA says points change is invalid

The Formula One Teams' Association says the FIA's decision to change the scoring system for 2009 is invalid and cannot be enforced.

FOTA - which proposed an alternative points system but saw it rejected by the FIA World Motor Sport Council - claims that Formula 1 regulations do not allow such a change so close to the season unless all the teams are in agreement.

"Following the decision of the World Motorsport Council of the 17 March 2009 to change the way the drivers’ championship is awarded, the Teams gathered and unanimously agreed to question the validity of this decision," said a FOTA statement.

    Scoring Plan Axed

Formula 1 has axed plans for a new scoring system in 2009, just nine days before the start of the season.

The sport's governing body, FIA, announced earlier this week that the driver with the most wins would be crowned world champion.

But following a protest from F1 teams, FIA says it will defer the introduction of the new system until 2010.

The traditional points system will be used when the 2009 season begins on 29 March with the Australian Grand Prix.

LOL! It gets better...this is what i read on one site

Changes to sporting rules and to all regulations other than those referred to in b) above are published at least 20 days prior to the opening date for entry applications for the championship concerned, but never later than 30 November each year.
So they're not just a fraction late, or a little bit late. They're a massive three and a half months late. How embarrassing is that?

As if that wasnt enough....we are now heading towards another showdown which shows no sign of being resolved quickly as pointed out proudly by, Max Mosely.

    Mosley expects trouble over diffusers

FIA president Max Mosley expects a furore over diffuser legality to hit the start of the 2009 season.

Brawn, Toyota and Williams have interpreted the technical regulations differently to their rivals and their diffuser designs are set to be protested in Melbourne.

Mosley admitted that the controversial diffusers fell within a grey area in the rules, and expects a row to erupt in Australia next weekend.

Diffuser row grows ahead of Melbourne

The growing row over diffuser designs in Formula 1 appears to be heading for a showdown protest at the Australian Grand Prix, with the FIA saying it is now too late to resolve the matter before the start of the season.

The designs of the diffusers on the Brawn, Toyota and Williams have led to questions from rival teams, who think the trio are unfairly using a bigger diffuser than was originally intended by the regulations.
