    http://www.geo.tv/12-22-2008/31129.htm

i really wish they really do s0oo.........they gotta cut the prices for about 100-200k to make their cars affordable at this stage of high interest rates , and economic crisis .

instead of alwasy b*tching when the prices go up, how about some feedback when they go down as well?

Highly unlikely my friend. As humans, complaint we must, compliment on none.

I remember the furore when petrol prices were increased to the max and there were hundreds of replies to it, but didnt even see a thread for when they were reduced to recent levels.

    Oh well...
    Till Later,

    Twisted.

don't worry, we all feel that way, but if we don't treat this site like our own then those idiots will take over this place. you have plenty of friends here, ignore the muppets.

as for the local auto industry,... they are like ostriches, they bury their heads in the sand and think nobody can see them

well this drop in prices might help making these tin cans affordable and boosting the sales ..but i guess i wont mind paying a bit extra if they promise me a bit more than a good resale....because safety comes first....Cars can be bought at a cost but life cant be bought at any

    The article reads...

Toyota lower profit...Toyota is lowering its profit forecast for the fiscal year through March 2009

It may too early in the morning for me...but guys...there is nothing that says that the prices are coming down

what are the new prices of all the variants. I hope the prices will be lowered but not at the expense of fairly low quality already.

sorry for being off the topic but
we should have members from pak auto industry heads to confirm these news if to happen in pakistan...
pakwheels can offer some goldmembership to these guys from auto industry...
this way u won''t have to listen/trust to other ppl sayin ma uncle is in toyota/honda/suzuki showroom sayin that next month a newer model is coming....
we'll get a direct source then....
senior ppl from pakwheels can also suggest different ideas to the industry...
seriously guys...WE NEED A CHANGE IN THE AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR IN PAKISTAN.....wake up guys

m not talkin about that we should get other imported makes too..instead we can make our local industry better...

    1. we don't need alloy rims and sunroof here as standard instead we should get airbags and abs standard

    2. fine...u dont want to change mehran...don't...just add better seatbelts and four wheel disc brakes...which r not costly at all....

    3. we can get 2 wheel abs on cultus and santro...remove the cd player from it...remove the chroming...remove the matchin bumpers...save this cost for the 2wheel abs..

4.. remove the centre armrest/cupholder from rear seats in corollas and civics....give a first aids kit instead..

there r even more things to change without increasin the cost of production...eg i don't want fog lights in ma brand new car...adjust that cost somewhere else...5000rs a piar of fogs light...add this amount to the general tires u'll get much better tires than....we should have dunlops/yoko's etc as standard tires

so...guys stop protestin for electricity bills/ lawyers/ indian threats etc...we have been protestin for these for the last 50yrs....lets protest against auto industry
there is a simple solution for that...a new trend started from late 90s and 2000...whenever a new model is launched...ppl rush to buy them...some ppl r genuine buyers but some ppl do it for the sake of showoff...
don't buy new cars until u need one...make ur older car better..keep it properly tuned..
i have so much in ma mind to say but it wont make a difference here i think...we need to take it to higher level through proper channel
m sorry if i said anything inappropriate here

Sorry, but where does it say that Toyota have reduced prices ? The article is about what Toyota`s forecast is in terms of sales in the current financial crunch.
Come back, Luca Badoer, all is forgiven.

As far as safety is concerned, almost all of our cars won't even be considered road legal out of pakistan because of the safety requirements they demand.

    @ToofaneBatameezi
    lolz...
seriously yaar last 2-3 yrs were very depressing for me me...today mehran would cost u nearly 5lacs on road....so m happy with ma 3lac 2001 santro which i have since last 2.5 years...never gave me any prob...
new cultus would touch nearly 9lacs on road...and again m satisfied with ma 2000 civic which would be for 7lacs...
same is the case with our other cars..
just sold a RKR for 875....with cng..every thing perfect...
its a good offroader and easy to use in city too...and i cant compare it with new cultus or the new jimny even...
so y sell u old cars to get a new one unless u have a justified reason

Pakistan govt should make a law to make abs/airbags/seat belts standard in all cars.
Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.

    @toofast
how about this...like in UK u MUST get ur car insured when buyin a new one..

    same way...
news cars in pakistan should get registeration unless they have 1 or 2 major safety equipment in the car..
govt can limits these equipment costwise...
for small cars.....seatbelts and 4wheeldisc brake should be a must
slight bigger size cars...like cultus and santro u should have atleast 2 wheel abs and a single airbag
family cars must have 2 airbags 4wheel abs etc...
