just take copy of the documents following.

    1. regestration blue book
    2. tax papers
    3. insurance (govt one)
    4. insurance (PVT )

    verify the tiklee..

that the engine and chasis number match......

take the car to ACLC (anti car lifting cell) karachi...and ask them to check and verify the car...and issue a clearance letter......

they will charge 500 rs ( bribe ) for it....but its the safest way.....then no one can claim that its a tempered vehicle...

this is the safest way to purchase a car...

but most of the people just neglect it and take the open letter and blue book and get it transfered.

i recommend you to do all the above steps as you are from another city.

Bro i think for being on the safe side make sure u have the following documents when u make a car deal:

    1) Original Sales Invoice (Jo company ke invoice ho ge)

    2) Sales Receipt
(Which mentions how much u bought this car for. This is another proof that u bought this car from Mr.X on this date for ..... Amount)

    3) Original Registration Book
    4) NIC copy of the owner
    5) Transfer Letter ( For change in ownership)
    6) Delivery Letter
( To have a written proof that the car is in ur custody. It takes few days before the ownership transfers so this letter is made to stay on the safe side)
    7) Tax documents( Make sure there are no dues)

Verify the ownership of the car by calling CPLC. Verify the person's ID card from Nadra. Get all the necessary things verified before finalizing the deal.

I hope u have a better idea about the documents required. Let me know if my msg helped u out.

i still PREFER to take the car physically to ACLC , as these thieves ar very clever.....and they change registration numbers..everything is FORGED IN STOLEN CARS..the documents the invoices..and everything...only physical inspection from a specialist can make u safe with written proof of verification

.when you would send the messege ...it would turn out to be clean.........but instead.......there would be two cars in the city with the same numbers .

Do we have a similar service in Lahore where cars can be physically checked? I have also heard that getting the car physically checked by ACLC results in the loss of original paint and hence devaluation of the car price. How can one convince the owner of the car that this should be done prior to purchase?

What if someone changes the engine, in that case chasis number and engine number can't be the same ?
